For me, it was ballpark 3 weeks. But again, I’ve seen some painfully waiting up to 6-8 months.

@lroqouisB thank you, hopefully it's more on the 3 week time frame. Holidays doesn't help. I had a TS clearance 01/2020 so hopefully that speeds things up.

  • Forgot to ask this in my interview, is the Covid vacc still required? My research says no but want to see if anyone has a different understanding.

They didn’t specifically inquire about any specific vaccines. However, they wanted my vaccine history from my young adult years until now.

They asked for it after TOL when requesting other docs. But things may have changed. Didn't ask for it at medical but almost all medical appointments are scheduled through 3rd party that can do FOH physical.

CFT2020 - Feb. 2022 Information Session -> Oct. 2022 TOL here. Not one mention of the C19 vaccine. I imagine things have changed. I did my medical directly through FOH. No specific request of the C19 vaccine, however they want a historical (as far as you can go) of your immunization record.

      IroqouisB thanks man!

  • Nov 2021 application, interviewed in April just received my TOL. They apparently sent it to a wrong email in August. Bummer but at least I can get the ball rolling

1RidgeRunner7 yeah, I switched emails after I applied. I confirmed 3 times that it was changed successfully and had the emails showing that, but they still sent it to my old email

  • Do you get a top security clearance when they do your background or how does that work. I also have family members that aren’t the most outstanding citizens however I don’t have anything on my background. Current LEO. Hopefully my family’s past doesn’t jeopardize my future career.

When I received my TOL back in 2020 it stated that BI was a tier 5 which would be a TS.

  • Feb 2022 info sessions in dc. Just completed my medical two weeks ago . Haven’t started background yet , any idea when I could start that? Also what time frame when I could be put into hiring pool? Thanks

January info session here. It's hard to tell as it seems everyone is having different experiences. I had medical and background come at roughly the same time. My background started in september and was confirmed clear the day after Thanksgiving. My final medical was over 8 weeks ago and I havent heard anything. Just try and remain as sane as possible.

im from the same info session as you, I just did my medical 3 weeks ago, 2 days after I completed it I got the email to fill out EQIP. I don't think we will see the hiring pool until 2nd quarter of 2023 at the earliest

  • Are there still a good amount of people from the New England Interview in April that haven’t received TOLs yet?

Word on the street is no information sessions until 2024. The hiring pool is too full.

        • Looking for some insight into what all the medical exam consists of? I ask because I have a service connected disability that sounds way worse than it is (back issue) and am worried it could disqualify me. I am waiting to hear back to schedule medical and just want some insight on what to expect. Is it a thorough physical/ flexibility exam or more of a check the box kind of thing?

When I did mine a few months ago it was mostly check the box and really straight forward. They did bloodwork, eye and hearing exam, EKG, and range of motion. I might have forgot something but it was really easy compared to border patrol medical exam, that was atrocious. It might be different for others though.

Abaddon the BP one is a PITA, medical then a phone call with a psychologist that questioned you on everything. This one was way easier and smoother of a process so far.

Like buddy, we all have at least one screw loose for wanting to stick it out in this field. I mean.. I get it though.

Kennywc yeah BP was over the top ridiculous. I forgot about the psychologist phone call. Compared to that the marshals process has been straight forward and a breeze.

You'll be fine. I claimed back as well, it'll be a routine exam. They'll just ask for your VA paperwork of what disabilities you claim.

        • Following! I made a few VA claims including sleep apnea so I would like to know as well.

I’m 80% and had no issues. Cleared first time no follow ups. But the doc thought I was cute so you might be out of luck.

        • I hope everyone had a good New Year's celebration. For those that received their TOL and have not received the email for the EQIP/BI paperwork, they stated it can take up to 90 days from completion of the forms before they send an email. I reached out to them yesterday.

Negative, but my other EQIPs are there from other agencies I applied for.

        • Is USMS still requiring covid vaccine and/or boosters?

according to my TOL the requirement doesn't currently apply because of the injunction. Whether FLETC will require it is something else.

        • FLETC is NOT currently requiring the vaccine

          • What’s the wager that most of us in the 2022 session won’t see FLETC until 2024-2025?

I can only imagine what that 2019/2020 backlog looks like.

Aih018 - I agree. Us 2022 peeps are in a weird situation. In less then 9 months I’ve pretty much finished the entire process with the exception of the FIT. However, I’m seeing 2019/2020 guys still being onboarded and/or just now getting their e-QIP.

I know there is roughly 8 academies this year, and if each were to fill up to around 50 recruits, that only equates to around 400 new bodies. The math just doesn’t add up to me. I imagine those waiting to be given an offer is an extremely long list just from 2020-2021 alone.

I want to be optimistic. But I’m just saying get comfortable. However, I hope I am completely wrong. I for one am one of those dudes willing to go anywhere. Even if it’s somewhere like Maine for 3 years.

Well regardless of how it plays out it appears as if the director is motivated to push through this backlog and get things back on track to at least be the normal lengthy wait time so hopefully that bodes well for everyone currently in the pool.

with the directors "200" initiative this year and the backlog (seemingly) worked out I'm gonna be optimistic and say it is possible some of us from 2022 may get FLETC this year. Regardless i'm looking at more time in the process means more time to prepare and get in shape, i'm 35 and i'll take all the time they give me lol
