Forgot to ask this in my interview, is the Covid vacc still required? My research says no but want to see if anyone has a different understanding.

CFT2020 - Feb. 2022 Information Session -> Oct. 2022 TOL here. Not one mention of the C19 vaccine. I imagine things have changed. I did my medical directly through FOH. No specific request of the C19 vaccine, however they want a historical (as far as you can go) of your immunization record.

Nov 2021 application, interviewed in April just received my TOL. They apparently sent it to a wrong email in August. Bummer but at least I can get the ball rolling

1RidgeRunner7 yeah, I switched emails after I applied. I confirmed 3 times that it was changed successfully and had the emails showing that, but they still sent it to my old email

January info session here. It's hard to tell as it seems everyone is having different experiences. I had medical and background come at roughly the same time. My background started in september and was confirmed clear the day after Thanksgiving. My final medical was over 8 weeks ago and I havent heard anything. Just try and remain as sane as possible.

Looking for some insight into what all the medical exam consists of? I ask because I have a service connected disability that sounds way worse than it is (back issue) and am worried it could disqualify me. I am waiting to hear back to schedule medical and just want some insight on what to expect. Is it a thorough physical/ flexibility exam or more of a check the box kind of thing?

When I did mine a few months ago it was mostly check the box and really straight forward. They did bloodwork, eye and hearing exam, EKG, and range of motion. I might have forgot something but it was really easy compared to border patrol medical exam, that was atrocious. It might be different for others though.

Abaddon the BP one is a PITA, medical then a phone call with a psychologist that questioned you on everything. This one was way easier and smoother of a process so far.
Like buddy, we all have at least one screw loose for wanting to stick it out in this field. I mean.. I get it though.

What’s the wager that most of us in the 2022 session won’t see FLETC until 2024-2025?
I can only imagine what that 2019/2020 backlog looks like."The only easy day was yesterday"

Aih018 - I agree. Us 2022 peeps are in a weird situation. In less then 9 months I’ve pretty much finished the entire process with the exception of the FIT. However, I’m seeing 2019/2020 guys still being onboarded and/or just now getting their e-QIP.
I know there is roughly 8 academies this year, and if each were to fill up to around 50 recruits, that only equates to around 400 new bodies. The math just doesn’t add up to me. I imagine those waiting to be given an offer is an extremely long list just from 2020-2021 alone.
I want to be optimistic. But I’m just saying get comfortable. However, I hope I am completely wrong. I for one am one of those dudes willing to go anywhere. Even if it’s somewhere like Maine for 3 years.

Well regardless of how it plays out it appears as if the director is motivated to push through this backlog and get things back on track to at least be the normal lengthy wait time so hopefully that bodes well for everyone currently in the pool.

with the directors "200" initiative this year and the backlog (seemingly) worked out I'm gonna be optimistic and say it is possible some of us from 2022 may get FLETC this year. Regardless i'm looking at more time in the process means more time to prepare and get in shape, i'm 35 and i'll take all the time they give me lol
