Thats a quick turn around from ToL

    • Recieved email indicating that within the next 90 days Background and Medical will be reaching out to schedule E-Qip and medical exam. Please monitor your email regularly. So they seem to be moving somewhat.

USMS HR is a disaster. Everyone has varied timelines. From what I’ve seen, you should seek applicants by district, and navigate your inquires from there. I’m a Feb. 2022 PHX info session guy. I got my TOL Oct. 2022 and it has been radio silence since.

    • Someone from medical/ HR just reached out to schedule. TOL was Oct 3.

I've heard you can negotiate. I've been offered GS 7 for ATF and SS so I don't know why the USMS is lowballing me haha.

From what I've been told you basically take what USMS offers. I live an austere life already, so getting knocked down all those GS levels for a couple years isn't going to be too bad.

I was told no. If referred for a GL-5 that's what you will come in as. This is what I was told by a current deputy, unless somebody else knows something he doesn't.

How likely is it to negotiate your step level , ifyou do have some prior federal experience?

    • What is everyone timeline? I got tol email in October and the email to submit other documents and accept tol. When should I hear about anything else like medical
      or background?

Honestly it varies. I got my TOL in Sept. and didn't hear anything else for over a month. Someone I know received their TOL and medical email, the same week. It definitely varies, the structure is all over the place.

    • Who here has a contact email for a FOH employee who is responsible for USMS applicants? DM me, please.

      • Do you also need to bring your military medical record to the medical exam? Or just your standard childhood immunization records + Covid card?

Being vaccinated is not a requirement anymore, so they probably won't ask for proof of vaccination.

      • For anyone trying to schedule in PHX. If you were successful how many phone calls did it take till the phone number didn’t say “we’re unable to complete your call at this time..”

Abaddon — I set my alarm to go off every 10 minutes and called the number they gave me like a Karen trying to make a complaint to Starbucks about getting the wrong order. It fluctuated from being busy to allowing me to leave a message. After about a few hours of consistently doing this, I finally got a hold of someone. I was able to schedule both medical appointments within the next week and 1/2.

haha nice. I called the number in the email they sent and got a hold of someone right away but they told me it was wrong number to make an appointment. Luckily they had the right number and I was able to schedule the medical the following week.

Abaddon no, but I just saw your dm and replied. I’m calling like a fiend trying to get his fix lol.

      • While checking my onboarding , I noticed that I have an upcoming medical appointment scheduled for November 17, 2022. However when I reached out to them they told me to disregard … unless they contact me directly then what I saw doesn’t exist.

Soon after I submitted all my TOL paperwork on USAJobs, I received an email stating: "Pre-employment Step complete - employment security process." So I already knew they successfully transferred my clearance. But I reached out to them after my medical for a status update and that's when they told me I was cleared medically and they're moving me into the hiring pool

Yeah I've been super surprised how fast it picked up after my interview. Seems like if you went to an info session/interview in the middle of COVID things were really slowed down

        • Hey everyone, I hope everyone is well! One quick question. I looked on the USMS website where you submit the docs, and it states that my MED is incomplete, but it shows a due date of 28 NOV, will they contact me to schedule the MED, or is that something I have to reach out for?

Funny, I just logged into my usastaffing account. Mine says medical exam due 11/23/22. You're suppose to disregard that message. Wait until they contact with instructions for the medical exam.

Where do you see where you are at in the process? Using USA jobs and tracking the application, at the top is shows the application process bar which is filled all the way. And below that is says Application Status: Accepted. Is this the same place you are looking?

I just keep track of it on a notepad/the paper they gave us after the Panel Interview.
