Hello all. Interviewed in mid may 2023, just received my TOL about a week ago. Went ahead and accepted my TOL, and filled out the random paperwork required. How long did it take any of you to hear from your investigator? I read somewhere that they’re required to start your BI within 14 days of submitting paperwork. I’ve heard a mix of things of how the interactions go with getting background clear.
I guess follow up question would be: I accepted TOL and filled required paperwork. How long before I should expect something from anyone? (OPM,HRD, background investigator)

USMS update from HRD
HRD: 1801 is right around the corner. The union (for operational 0082s) must be notified in writing first before the new 1801 Job Announcement to replace the 0082 position gets released. 1801 Job Announcements are being targeted for a September release; however, this could be delayed, or timeline adjusted depending on conversations with the union. New 1801 position locations and order in which districts will receive them to fill vacancies is still under discussion and planning determination. When the new 1801 position shift is official and final; all 0082s in the field will be converted to 1811, pay grade will not change. In the field 0082s will convert to 1811 at their current existing grade and continue through the grade promotion ladder with the current rules. This is simply a series conversion/switch from 0082 to 1811, not a promotion. However, upon converting to 1811, they will receive LEAP regardless of what their current grade is. Any current 0082s at FLETC in Basic DUSM and any new basic classes filled using the old 0082 job announcement applicant list; will remain 0082s through the academy until graduation. On the day of graduation, Basic DUSM 0082s will convert to 1811 and immediately receive LEAP. The old 0082 job announcement applicant list will continue to be used and exhausted as long as there are qualified and eligible candidate on the list ready for hire.
So as long as you were deemed eligible you can still be hired. Once a district has sufficient 1801’s all DUSMs will be going to protection or enforcement we are being told.

Yes, people have been through without being selected. I have seen HRD email them and tell them their certificate has expired and if they wish to pursue the position further they would need to reapply/go to a new info session... -
