  • Boxing for Cardio or Weighted blanket

At my age, my right knee is starting to feel the wear and tear of running and other aerobic activities. These days I find the best cardio to be in Boxing and tossing around a weighted blanket. You know those things? They're designed to treat trauma and P.T.S.D.

Cycling is a good way to do cardio if you have knee concerns- just make sure to go to a high-end bicycle shop to have your bicycle fitted to you- most casual cyclists run the saddle too low, which can cause knee problems.

And select a pedal/cleat system that allows float, to make things easier on your knees- I've used Eggbeaters for many years, as they are simple, light, self-cleaning, inexpensive, strong, have a fair amount of float, use a flush cleat (so you can walk when you're off the bike), and since they are four-sided, all you have to do is stomp on any side, and they'll clip in.

Thank-you for all the advice. I had to google Eggbeaters bicycle. The truth is I know nothing about this sport and you may have sparked interest. I'll look into it.

Eggbeaters are not bicycles, they're bicycle pedals.

      Question?

Real bike or stationary bike? I'm thinking stationary bike is better because you don't have to fight the elements.....the weather. Safer. Don't have to worry about balance.
      Drawback.......I'll never do the triathlon.

You're right about all that stuff, if that's what's important to you. I've used both.
