Yep, civilian agents were introduced into Army CID as fraud investigators in MPFU units, later sexual assault investigators...but that was really a failed experiment. Military agents were the only CID Agents for a long time (Warrants and enlisted), much like Army Counterintelligence Agents....now there are also civilian CI Agents in the Army.
