Should start seeing some movement next week if you go buy some of the other peoples timelines. All my stuff was completed 3 weeks ago…. So hurry up & wait

The truest definition of a gentleman's course. I went through IOIBT about a year and half after leaving the Army as an 11B. Classroom for 95% with 5% hands-on. We were issued 5.11s, Polos, and Bates boots.

I went several years ago at FLETC and we had a familiarization range where we got to shoot revolvers to machine guns. We also had a hands on explosives range where we got to set of a stick of commercial explosives. Not sure if they still do that or not.

I’ll let those that have been through it correct me, but my understanding is that it’s just structured classroom/hands-on training. It’s not a LEO position, so no physical testing. The uniform is 5.11 pants and ATF polo shirts, that are provided (I believe).

Few questions on basic. Obviously I was military. Is IOI basic like military basic ( physical training, PT test, etc...) is there a anywhere I can find info on it? Is it more of a college corse or very structured and rigid? Is there a uniform you get issued or slacks and polo type thing?

Honestly it varies. Some were a couple weeks, some were a couple months. They don’t tell you when you’re out of the background adjudication phase so you never really know when it’s done relative to when the FO comes, but they typically start FOs for the next class around 4-6 weeks before the EOD, that puts the next class (6/19) getting FO letters around 5/22-6/2 period. Class after that is supposed to be September I believe but could be moved sooner.

So how long was it before you guys got your FO after your BI was completed?

Hopefully several of us here. Only 20 made the May class, including just a couple from here. You're BI will have to be rather quick to get into July, but someone else did theirs in March and they made it into May, so you have a shot.
