Armyretire I did all of that on 2/16 after receiving my TO. Edit: I have yet to receive any type of eqip notice. However I do hold a TS with another DOJ agency.

Yes, I have had an agent reach out to me because I messed up on my paperwork and signed in 2 spots on a form and it needed to be redone so I do know they are currently in the process of reviewing what was submitted to them.

Anybody receive a second TO in the last few days? I received the exact same email with the same forms to fill out to start the background investigation. Funny thing about it is there is no record of it in my USAJOBS account (only the original from December). I inquired about it, but still no response.

Not that I am aware of, when I get off work I will go through again and look. I would say just for the hell of it maybe fill them out and send them in again just to be on the safe side even though you have already done it.

Question for those that are in the academy or have previously completed it. Is it like glynco where you fly in and then take a bus/van to the academy or do they encourage you to drive to the academy if feasible?

I drove down to the area, bc I wanted to have a vehicle in the off time. . Most of the class did. You are required to ride in a van, as a class to and from class each day.

Yeah that's one reason I want to do that for the off time but that would be a hell of a drive for me lol

We have a large class so we needed 3 vans to cart everyone. But they stay at the hotel and are available for the students to use. You just have to work it out with your van members.

I could be wrong but I think the people that got their drug tests already have a top security clearance. The preliminary forms probably pushed the ones with a clearance first to move ahead with the drug test part.

I don't feel this is accurate. Although I have a TS from the DOD, I had to completely go through the BI process again for a TS (despite my DOD TS being active). Additionally, I didn't begin the new background process until late Jan of this year and I took the UA back in early Jan of this year. Depending on who you have TS with depends on whether they reciprocate it or not. I don't know which agencies they may do that with, but it doesn't seem to be the DOD.

Adding that I'm pretty sure the UA is a preliminary step to getting your Eqip invite, although I could be wrong. I did get my Eqip invite exactly one day after my results came back okay (which that is a whole different story. Called because I take prescription meds and wondered if they would pop hot, turns out they didn't, thankfully).

Well sometimes depending on when your background is done they still may do it again because they are supposed to update your background every 5 yrs. And maybe not necessarily top security. But so far the ones who I’ve spoken to and haven’t gotten their drug tests yet have been private sector or just those with public trusts. The initial paperwork we all send in, I know they do something with it first so all I’m saying is maybe they sorted it and moved certain forward with the drug tests and the others should come shortly. Could be wrong but seems like it could be.

jmwilson03 i mean yeah that does make sense as my last background was completed in the beginning of '21 or maybe they look to see who would potentially be the easiest to do and go in that order but at the end of the day no one will really ever know the rhyme or reason behind how they do things lol

Monday 02/27 I went to get my fingerprints exactly one week ago.

If they follow the schedule they have previously, it's 2 pay period notice prior to EOD, so you have 1 pay period between notice and EOD. That puts May 2nd academy (April 26 EOD) FO being sent out in PP7, between March 26 and April 8th. Crossing my fingers that they are pushing my BI adjudication for this class.

I'm in the same boat as you. Everything is done, just waiting on background. It's been in adjudication (on someone's desk) for a good 3 months, going on 4.

Khamorski, CBP goes to GS 12 not 11, unless you sup up. Check out “delphifourms CBP Officer” to see how unhappy everyone is within the agency.

^Also another reason I wouldn’t want to go CBP. I’m not trying to go from 1 dumpster fire to another. While this one will be challenging at times keeping up with all the changes in regulations and explaining those changes to the public, it’s better for my family and I both short and long term.

Khamorski all good. CBP is a good career, pays a lot. But it isn’t for everyone and there are times you are going to earn that pay. OT is double rate. Shift differential and time and a half for working Sundays. If anyone has questions or interest about CBP, feel free to hit me up. I’ve worked a wide range of Southern/Northern border, airport and cargo POEs. Several TDYs, one I’m currently on.

Yeah that's true because I know years back when I was starting the process for a local pd they said they cert 3 people for every 1 that they want to higher because not everyone can complete hiring process or like u said not willing to step down or etc.

That's what I was looking for, academy start date if you make it into the May class. If like other agency's 1st week get sworn in, see HR, get PIV card and computer access etc.
