    • Question...If I picked 3 spots to be stationed in South Florida, what is the "chance" of getting sent here. I live in Miami, I am fluent in spanish, I know the waters...I wish I can be sent to Marathon...Anyone going to marathon please send me a PM! I need to see if I can get a contact number. Thank you so much for any help!

      • I want to provide all of you with some info.............I recieved my firm offer today and to my suprise it's not Tampa. I'm going to Sault St. Marie, MI. I'm still in shock, regardless I called HQ today as a last ditch effort for a new duty station and was told that they have no other locations available. They also stated that all new hires will be sent to MI (Huron and Sault St.)

Because this came from the horses mouth I want to believe it's credible info.

To all of you in the process, don't bank on your tentative offer geo pref. As I said I was under the impression that I was going to Tampa.......not the case.

I will say that I'm very thrilled to finally get this position after 5 attempts and although I won't be wearing my flippy floppies I am thankful for this oppurtunity and I will make the best of it.

Good luck to all of you!

PM me for my # if you need additional info.

        I EOD 9/13 and start FLETC 10/6

Congrats! I was stationed up there for 2 years in the USCG and you really grow to love it. No crime and just about one of anything you need as far as conveniences. If you hunt.....you will be in heaven. Just a heads up.....when I was there in one day it snowed over 5 ft. of snow. You'll adapt. I suspect you guys might get snow mobiles or something else to use when the rivers and lakes freeze. The only major threats up there are Pot and Chinese smuggling. Good luck.....its beautiful there.
I swear to God im going to pistol whip the next guy who says "Shenanigans" .......

            • Does anybody know when another announcement for entry level MIA's will occur? Seems like it has been a while since one was put out. Any insight would be appreciated.

                        • I finally recieved my firm offer on July 22nd. I applied on the Nov announcement. It took forever. I only applied to one place (which is only 3 miles from my house here in Corpus Christi, Tx) and got it. So... who all has a FLETC date of Sept 9?

                          • Can't ask for anything better than getting stationed 3 miles from your house.

                              • Hey guys, I just heard from my investigator that they are waiting on "opm" to finish something about my fingerprints, once that is done they will send me to scheduling and training...Wow finally I hear something from my process...I truly hope to get selected and begin my career as a Marine interdiction Agent. Thank you all out there for all the great information but I cannot say I am in until I hear from them. Hope is soon.
