Received Firm offer today. I EOD June 22 to the Houma, LA office. The academy will be July 09. I have to report to Hammond though. Does anyone know if this is where the actual office is?

Hammond is where the AIA's work out of. MIA's work out of houma. To my understanding Hammond is just where we go and get paper work done.

I stayed in the Houma Civic Center last fall... We were visiting our friend Ike.

Rumor has it I am now "physically fit" enough to do a job like this.
We'll see if someone calls me to confirm things...

Yes!

I am still waiting for my call. Nothing yet. Talked with MHC today and still my process is in the same place where it was 1 month ago. All I need is the BI to finish. Once that is done they will give me my call!!!!
Anybody knows when are the academy dates for? And anybody else applied for south Florida????

My confusion was intentional. I got bit by having a cold virus while attending my medical assesment. That sparked all kinds of medical testing by my docs to prove I'm fit for the job. I've been poked and prodded more in the last couple months than I ever cared to be. Oh well now I KNOW I'm healthy. I just learned that I passed that hurdle.

My current job requires certification for swiftwater rescue, to include the FEMA watermanship test. I also pass our annual cooper standards testing for the Dept. so I should be good to go when(if?) we all get to go jogging together in the Georgia heat.

Grouper- I am waiting too. All clear but no call yet.
