cool. Did the mhc tell you that you are going to marathon or what? I am surprised because the COE that I received in January said the needs of the agency would determine final locations once a firm offer was tendered.

I was given a COE under the GS7 veterans pref deal. Its a whole other application, that foregoes the interview. I jumped to the medical and EQIP, after submitting my DD214's and resume.
The COE had location and salary, contingent on approval of the BI.Comment

gossip from the CBP thread
"Talking with that BI she said that the DHS is secretly monitoring BI's to prevent them from cutting corners and that they now how 34 days to complete BI's. Not sure if it goes for all contracted BI's?"
Would be cool if true, but seems unrealistic.Comment

I met with my BI about a month ago and she said that she did have a deadline to get it done. My background has been complete for almost a month now. So I don't think it is so far fetched.Comment

I cant figure this out then....
I just talked to the HR lady that has been handling my application this week. I asked her about CASS, and she stated that "they" didnt use that program. Thats when she stated that my package had been with the investigator since 4 Feb, and the due date was late April.
In short, from all Ive been reading on this site, and gathering from my DHS contact, some apps may be handled on an individual basis. But as on most of these types of forums, rumors abound. Not saying that 99% of the information posted has been inaccurate... not at all. But....some has just not been consistent with what I am getting directly from the horses mouth.
In-particular, time frames of the wait process, and the amount of available spaces. There again, depending on the position title alone applied for, could negate a longer or shorter turn around time. Lots to consider.
Regardless, this is still a great forum for sharing of info and discussion.Comment

Gucci applied for the position under a different and little known program that allows individuals who are active duty to be apply directly to customs & border protection without applying through an announcement. There are a lot of differences in how we get there, but in the end we will all hopefully be on the same team, performing the same missions. Gucci, I hope you don't mind me posting this but it makes things clearer for the others who applied in November and january.Comment

more info to pass the time
Here's another interesting link to pass the mins, hours, days, while waiting.
Its the Adjudicative Desk Reference for BI's.
And, yes it is ok to view. It says "unclassified" right on the page.
