Good deal....for everyone else check out military.com. Then go to the coast guard discussion forum. Look for the maritime law enforcement section. There is a 10 page thread that has a ton of information about the MIA CBP position.

A freind of mine here in the FAM service got the job as a MIA in Miami. He starts in April. He has been a cop for years and I think the boat captain license got him in.

You might want to ask this over in the CBPO forum. There is a ton of guys over there, and they might have more insight since they are in the same system. My BI says "your case is in the security office." Let us know what you find out. Goodluck.

I was offered Marathon Key.

You and I are in the same "boat"....still waiting for the BI to be completed. I just had a high level DoD clearance completed recently, but I have been advised it doesn't matter...DHS does their own.

I was just told by my DHS contact that the wait could literally be up to one year. But most likely it will take 6-8 months once the BI starts.

yeah, around Jan. I submitted the BI stuff the first week in Feb. I just got word that the due date for my BI was late April.

I assume that the call could come anytime in April.
