  • Will do. It would be nice to get a firm offer this week, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

    • Has anyone heard from mhc about their physical or drug test?

      • enufshuz,

I received my EOD today. If you were referred to scheduling then it should not be long before you get an answer. It took less than a week from the time my package was put up through scheduling until I received my EOD. I was also told the firm offer will come soon after I accept my EOD. The Firm Offer is contingent on your acceptance of the EOD, location, and grade level, and thus, its approval by A&M Headquarters.

                • This is my machine gun. There are many like it, but this one is mine. It is my life. I must master it as I master my life. Without me my machine gun is useless. Without my machine gun, I am useless.....

All joking aside, prod is actually right. The last announcement that opened for MIA was only available to GL-09 eligible candidates and above; i.e., an applicant would require an OUPV (Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels) License, otherwise known as a "Six-Pack". If you don't have one, then you would be out of luck, for this go around anyways. Only the MIA announcements with GS/GL-5/7 are considered entry level, and thus no OUPV License required for employment.

And yes, I was an 0331 (pronounced Oh-3, 31) Machinegunner in the United States Marine "Corps".

                          tav,

If I'm remembering it correctly, three announcements ago their was a call for entry-level 5/7 MIA's; in fact I'm almost positive this was the case. I vaguely recall there being an advertisment on our CBP.net webpage through the A&M link. Now whether or not anyone was actually hired on as a entry-level GS-05 MIA I have no idea. Probably not. I applied under that one as well but was not picked up. Alas, I did make it this time around.

                            • Firm Offer

Well, it's finally here, it took three years and seven applications, nevertheless, I finally received my Firm Offer Yesterday . Everything's set, can't wait to get started. Hope MIA is everything and more that I think it will be; I turned down a New York State Trooper position for this. Good luck to all who are processing, hope everything goes smoothly. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask me, hopefully I'll be able to help. Thanks to all who have helped me throughout this process; tav, snake eyes, boat22, cbp2mia, etc. See you on the inside. tav, cbp2mia, looking forward to working with you. Take care all....
