I'm still waiting for medical to clear according to exam team. Cleared background last April and did medical in April still waiting.

Has anyone else not taken the urine test yet? I've done everything except the UA. I reached out to the exam folks and got the generic "you're still an active applicant, we'll contact you at a later time." And unlike most of the recent post, I've completed and cleared my medical. My background though hasn't been as fortuitous. Completed and yet to be cleared, it's been almost 10 months since my initial interview.

Reach out to the background guy or the background portion of the exam email. My background cleared really quick as I'm already a tier 5. I found out I was cleared last May via emailing exam. If you cleared medical. I'm positive your background should be good.
-
Bbreezie I have reached out to both. Background guy doesn't respond back, but he also said if anything was important enough he'd reach out to me. Exam will respond with the generic please be patient email. I actually completed and cleared my medical before I did my SF86.

FY 2020 ESH Wave 1 Applicant
How many of you all think this really matters as far as FY and Waves? 4 classes left with Approx 200 spots to fill.
-
It matters. I’m 2019 Wave 2. All cleared just waiting on FIT and offer/class seating. There’s plenty of us all cleared waiting for the same thing also from 2019 so if you’re 2020-2021 don’t expect anything anytime soon (most likely). There’s 4 waves per year so… just think of how many are ahead of you and go from there.
-
I know I was part of the 2019 Wave 4 group when I interviewed, but my email from around Christmas said in the pool of applicants in the 2020 ESH February hiring process. Completed medical, fingerprints and clearance adjudicated as of May 2021. Still no FIT or Ua yet.
-
Just curious how long it usually takes to schedule the drug test after medical? I'm going on 3 months since medical and haven't heard anything yet. I did a urinalysis at my medical but I assume thats something different?

Random question....does anybody know if Marshals (and all other federal LE) are allowed in to Shot Show? I've never had the chance to go but if I could go being a Marshal, that would be awesome haha

Good afternoon posting here since I figure there's a ton of us here and someone should know. I applied schedule B 2020 and interviewed March of 2021. I failed the interview and received the email that states you must wait 1 year before participating in hiring drives. Is attending an information session considered the hiring drive or do they mean when you actually apply? don't want to to disqualify myself over 2 months. Any info is appreciated

I got an email today from a security specialist advising they were going over my security forms for the position and I had to update some forms. Is this the background investigation or did they just needed to update forms, since it's been so long? I'm not sure if anybody else experienced this or not.

You'll know it's your background if they have you fill out an SF-86. So if it's not an SF-86, it's related to something else.
-
No problem. I know it doesn't help because everyone's timeline is different, but it was about 7 months after my TOL and 5 months after my medical until they reached to to me for my background.

Sent an email to USMS with some questions about the process and possible waiver for age. Got a response that may help some in regards to why selection of waves varies and may not be considered.
Any eligible applicant in the pool may be sent to a hiring district for selection consideration regardless of the date of their job announcement/certificates; there is no set hiring order. It is ultimately up to the hiring districts whom they select.

That’s good news. Only hiccup I can see is whether or not you have to have your medical cleared before you are “eligible” to be hired. If they are only clearing medical for 2019 applicants, then anybody who applied after that won’t be eligible for selection.

10/13/20 Medical
Cleared 11/20/21
Some applicants are being cleared.

Is there any 2019 applicants from Wave 5 that has gotten closer to the end. I keep checking this forum but it’s hard to tell what wave is actually up next for the academy. I’m guessing 2 and 3 right now from the 2019 hiring pool.

TXSP that’s what I figured. Still enduring the wait. May need to reach out again to see where things are at.
-
So once you’re at where you’re at Ranger, you’ll just get the common “in the process and will be contacted if further information is needed” response.
My local office contact told me they got called to fit test 2 individuals within a 4 day period last week. Figuring for third class.
-
Next class starts Feb 8th… Anything could happen between now and then. I have heard of ppl getting the call with very short time to prepare to leave for the academy. Next class isnt until Apr…

I’ve heard of people declining due to location offer also for Feb. class as late as this past week. I’m not sure how many spots they have left to fill for Feb. but def looks like it’s not full yet. As the saying goes: “stay ready so you don’t have to get ready” because that call can come at any point.

Anyone here still waiting for a final offer hesitant taking other job offers? I'm concerned about going to a new organization and leaving immediately for the Marshals. Could that said new federal organization block you from leaving because of money invested into your training?

Some places like NCIS will specify that you owe them at least 2-3 years or have to pay for CITP and the after training. I would read your final offer from the other agency pretty closely before accepting it if that’s what you are concerned with.
-
What about local police departments? I’m in the same boat
-
Depends. At my local PD we had to stay 2 years per the contract. One of my academy mates left right after graduation and had to reimburse the money back for his training. Secret Service has a 2 year agreement also. I would definitely ask if you plan on taking another job to wait out this dreaded process.
