Does anyone know if its true that an agency wont initiate a background if youre already in the process with a different agency?

I don't know all that well about what NBIB is doing after the transition from OPM. If you don't get any takers on a firm answer to this on our DO thread here, maybe you want to post your question on one of the BI threads?

Anyway, suppose it's in fact the case that both of the BI's are of the same scope, such as both are T5/SSBI. In that case, I would think there would be no real impact -- so long as the first agency is moving forward with the investigation. Things are moving forward and the BI results will be available upon completion to both agencies.

Alternatively, if the first agency has someone hung up in wait for a poly before the BI fully gets into swing, that would hold things up. If that happens to be the case, maybe one could communicate that to the personnel security office for the second agency. So that the second agency is not sitting around waiting for the first agency to finish the investigation. In such a case maybe the second agency can then adopt the investigation and take it under their own funding so the investigation can move forward.

If the two investigations are not equally in-depth, such as one is an ANACI -- while the other is SSBI, I do not know what NBIB is doing with that. If they would stop the first lesser investigation, and transition the investigation into an SSBI? Vs. wait for the first lesser investigation to be done, and then fill in the rest of the requirements for the SSBI? Which agency is being billed for which particular components of the investigations in this case is going to play a role...

From what I have noticed it looks like they are moving forward with TSLs etc. in spurts. I think there is still potential if you haven't heard anything yet, since a few more have heard some news recently... there could be more coming.

Can anyone shed some light on the meaning behind something that was told to me today in an email?

I sent an email to HR to ask about my score and which field office selected me. I was told that I am "an alternate selection for a field office" (didn't want to put the field office on here but it was a specific one). Can anyone explain to me the "alternate selection" that was described to me? I have completed my EQIP, fitness, and Medical.

Mhuck how did you know you got selected for a field office and not a detention center? Just curious

It’s the field office AOR (area of responsibility) sorry I should have specified.

Really makes you wonder who chose you.

Alternate = someone will have to fail to pass the pre-employment requirements. At that point you will move in and take the available opening (assuming you are the first alternate). If everyone already selected passes everything then an alternate would not be offered a final job offer.

Mhuck Sounds like you were chosen because the person that field office initially picked either declined or couldn’t complete the pre-employment process

That is what I was thinking but wanted an outside perspective. I don't mind being selected as the alternate, just glad I got selected.

I got a TSL About two weeks ago. Completed medical, drug test, fitness, fingerprints, and eqip. Does anyone know if a failed CBP poly will affect any of this?

If the failed poly was outside of 2 years it shouldn't

Does anyone know if the polygraph usually comes before the medical, physical, and drug tests ? Or after?

Just got an email about telephonic pre-polygraph interview. So has anyone done the poly with ice? If so what should i expect? Thanks

How does that work!? Telephonic Pre-Polygraph interview?

And I have! Passed my poly in March. Same as CBP and BP. Only differences is its being done by ICE.

Is your background clear? Meaning did you get an all clear email regarding the pre employment process.

Question - can you tell me, if you did the physical agilities test already, how many push-ups did you do? I mean, I can definitely do more than the minimum to pass, but I want to look like I am making an effort to max out as much as possible on the test. I don't want them to look at my #'s and be like, huh that's not much. Especially since they give you two minutes. I feel like I should do a lot. So, how many should I do to keep up with you guys? Thanks in advance!

They really couldn't care less how many you do... as long as you get the minimum.
