Was lucky enough see this posting right at 12am and get an app in. Hopefully I get an invite to test. From what I have seen this is a pretty coveted gig so well how it goes. Anyone know the deal with the poly for this process? I would assume it’s mandatory but the positing didn’t give a black and white answer.

The announcement was expected. Their recruitment contact said it would be in the may-july timeframe for it.

Only thing I can't get a response on is if they are going to be doing another GS-11/12 announcement or if all of us OFO and BP guys needs to take a GS7 then put in for a repromotion to a 12 after the academy.

Also curious to what the shortened academy is like. I have heard it is just more in-depth case work classes to teach us the ERO side of things. But do they make you do the PT test and CTT at the shortened academy or is it just class work.

I will have to ask some of the guys I know who got on during the last announcement about the academy.

I went ahead and applied last night in the first 30 minutes. My last application didn't make it past the referral blackhole.

I picked preference locations that were heavy in detention centers this time since I figured they probably need the manpower more than the main and sub offices.

Does anyone have any specific insight on the daily and general responsibilities of a DO in a detention center vs a regular office? I know in regular offices there's a variety of units: non-detained docket, CAP, Fugitive Ops, etc.

I received an email from an ERO contact I have forwarded cases to here in Las Vegas the salt lake AOR is hiring atleast 6 from this announcement not entirely sure how people this AOR is to others but I live here and don’t want to move I’m current local LE

I was informed there is no PT but you do DT in the shortened academy.

PT here 2 to 3x’s a week. Be prepared for 1.5 mile run and obstacle course. People getting cut because they can’t hang.

The process is like any other FLEO position. Academy is not paramilitary. IMO pursue those other positions.
