      Congratulations

  • Thanks, JB. The bad news is that I’m now obsessed with answering the phone every time it rings...however, the good news is that I recently learned my car’s warranty is about to expire. Lol

Congrats on getting through the poly. Hope you get good news soon.

If you answer those spam calls, they put you on a "hot list" and you end up getting called more often.

That extended warranty is the absolute worst!

Soon as you hear from your background investigator your EOD isn’t far behind. That’s a good gauge

  • Appreciate that and good looking out, Patriot. The “call” should come from a Dallas area code, right?

      Yup
      Absolutely

  • We should start posting for academy dates whoever has any. Also, has anyone been there recently within a year? Do they make you run with a flag and stuff in cadence?.... how’s the PT? Do you pt with ICE only or other agencies? Anyone drive down ?

No running or marching no guidon or cadence.

Today FLETC lifted the mask mandate on base for those who are vaccinated.

      Only workout with ice

Everything is done with ice when working out during PT.

From what I remember, It's honestly a really laid back academy if you're in somewhat decent shape. Just be able to run your 1.5 under graduation times, participate and don't sandbag. Practice the CTT when you can off hours but it's easy too. I managed to do it in 43 seconds. Other than that you don't march or run in cadence like CBP but you do "walk" together sometimes between classes and you PT with your class. It's a lot of fun. Take all the scenarios and classes in and learn from them.

Study for your FLETC and ICE exams, deal with the OC spray, don't get involved with BS and it'll be fine and you can enjoy your weekends. I went through it in 2018 and it was like college. I did drive down and you WILL NOT regret it. Having a car is a treasure.

    • Awesome thanks bro. I’m for payscale purposes let’s say you make 100,000 with a locality pay of 10%. Is that 10% included or not on the opm pay scale chart?

Here are the 2021 LEO general schedules with locality. Any city/area not listed is covered under Rest of the US (3rd from the bottom).

        • Does anybody know if you are able to ever send your resume and apply through a local field office, or must all applicants for the DO position apply through a public USA jobs posting?

It is called non-competitive hiring. I think it might be for people already under DHS. You send your resume and latest SF-50 to certain people in the FO you are looking at. They may or may not look at your stuff.

Hardest part is finding the person who is in charge of it.

And getting them to return calls is hard. I never heard back from my local FO.

That process is done with. Everyone has to apply through USAJOBS

        • Has anyone ever received a letter of Interrogatory from the PSU?

You either got caught in a lie or they need you to clarify something with more details.

Interrogatories are formal letters sent directly to the applicant requesting specific information needed to make a decision on the case. Interrogatories are the most common form of correspondence from DOHA. They place the burden on the applicant to provide the needed information.

fathitman, thank you. This makes sense.

        • Received a request for additional medical documentation, but the PDF wouldn’t open after I input the required passcode I was given. This happen to anyone else? Is there a particular way to input the code? Up, up, down, down, left, right, B, A, Start?

Mine was all caps, but I didn't have any issues getting mine to open.

        • Itchy, how long did it take to receive your EOD after you submitted the medical docs?

I got the call about 3 weeks after I submitted everything.

        • I received a TSL the month of February and completed everything else the beginning of March, since then I haven't heard anything. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to receive a EOD And is it a good sign that I haven't heard anything yet?

            • Anyone have to conduct a vision re-test in order to pass the near acuity portion? I have successfully passed everything except for that.

My friend did he had to go to a specialist

            • Well, another hurdle down...passed the vision near acuity re-test. The doc said I must have just had a bad day the first time around. Now just waiting for Monday praying the call will come, Lol. Is it just me, or does anyone else hate weekends because it means 2 days of guaranteed no EOD?
