  • Maricopa County Probation

I applied for a position as a probation officer at the beginning of the year, passed the interview and successfully passed the background check. I received an email today saying that I passed it, however "most" of the positions are filled and my application is waiting for a vacant position in order to move forward. It said that they were still interested in my application and they would keep it on file for 1 year from the date I applied. I've never had an application handled this way and am mulling over my next options. In a situation like this is it even possible to be invited to complete the additional steps or would it be better to continue job hunting, applying, and actively looking somewhere else? Any sort of advice regarding this and options moving forward or even providing some input as to what this even means would be really helpful and appreciated.

It’s always best to keep job hunting until you’ve received a job offer. Simple as that.
