  • Decided to stick with it...what is next??!

    Hey guys,

Anyhow, I had posted a question about bowing out of a federal job. Well, I decided to stick it out. Why? The day I was going to throw in the towel was the day the Background Investigator called and set up our interview. So assuming that things are rolling along I decided to stick with it. His "report" is due on Monday APR 9.

Just so everyone knows my situation, I was tentativley hired for the Sector Enforcement Specialist CBP job. I have done my background paperwork, done my personal interviews with the BI, his report will be in on Monday, and my drug test is cleared.

Can anyone give me a rough idea now after all of that is completed when I may hear back from CBP regarding a start date? The reason I am really needing this info is I have numerous National Guard and personal obligations that would really work alot smoother if I had any clue as to when I could be moving half way across the country. A week? Month? 6 Months? God I hope not. The BI said this was probably the thing they were waiting on (talking about his report).

    Let me know!!!! THANKS!

    Hey everyone,

I was just doing some googling and I think I can make my question a littler clearer.

As of Monday my actual Background Investigation will be completed. It is the adjudication that will be beginning.

I understand this is up to the individual agencies.

So the actual question is: How long does adjudication take for CBP Sector Enforcement? I know that is pretty specific, so if anyone can tell me about their adjudication experiences that would be helpful too.

Well, it's a desk job doing communications. However I talked with some SES folks from my neck of the woods (Buffalo area) and they indicated that it is not a dispatcher position. You perform queries for field personnel. Personally, I am not concerned about the exact job duties. It's my first government job and I am just trying to get my foot in the door.

But the door is not being opened very quickly...how long does adjudication take for BI's?

Hey, I won't bump this again, but just wanted to ask one more time if anyone knows how long federal adjudications take for BI's, in general.
