Just spoke to my investigator. He said everything is good-documentaion wise- and it should be about 2-3 weeks until my sit-down with the investigator. Hopefully it's sooner.

One question: if there was anything that should of been disclosed in the 86 and was not, would I have been disqualified by now?

Not necessarily, but if you should probably let the background investigator know right away and tell them it was an oversight on your part.

But the Personnel Security division is a whole different story. Those people suck.

I forgot to mention a 2nd job departure on my OF306 but did mention it on my SF86 so I will bring it up right away. Honestly forgot.

If it's an arrest, I would say please disclosed when you sit down with your investigator. If they find something out later you will be fired.

EQIP accepted by PSD Intake and investigation started. Guess the wait starts.

Excellent! Good luck! I highly recommend taking some time away from the EQIP and come back to it when your mind is fresh. I found a couple of mistakes when I did that.

Well, all submitted and accepted so that train has departed. The way I have researched it the EQIP got reviewed by PSD for completeness and minimal acceptance standards. Now it goes to OPM and awaits payment from ATF to initiate the investigation. So few days time the process (ideally) will be in the hands of an OPM investigator or contrator and hurry up and wait.

The investigator from the PSD team handling my EQIP just asked me for the the correct information that I forgot to include. If you find anything remember to disclose it to the investigator.

Bad news on my end guys. Was out of the country last week on vacation and missed out on testing and interview so I'm out this go around. Maybe next time timing will be better for me. Really bummed about it but that's how it rolls sometimes. Good luck to all the posters still in the game.

Hey everybody! Just wanted some clarification on the process for everyone. I keep seeing people mention a Fed Ex package.... What is in the Fed Ex package? I received an email with the SA/IOI Services Package Checklist that included the Training Requirement Certification, Race and Origin Identification, Declaration of Federal Employment and a contingent letter stating the location and grade I would receive IF selected. Is this what you guys are referring to?

If you received the email, then FEDEX package will arrive in about 3 days or so. What Field Office?

Indianapolis. I received the email on Monday. I'm just curious if I'll get the package. I'm currently an ATF employee (Investigative Analyst) in Indianapolis with a TS. From what I've heard the background would be waived due to already having it. Is the Fed Ex package for the background?

I believe so. I am a newbie though and only have an old DOD secret. I also think you would have to sign the "you must pass training" document and such.

That was all a part of the email I received. Docs are signed and sent in so we will see. I'll keep status updates going.

So happy to see folks commenting. We need to keep it real here. The ATF IOI forum on fedsoup is flat. No lurkers here! Everyone will know my timeline until I either get to FLETC or get denied.

If you are a ATF employee with a TS, then you will be good, no need to do a background on you. They just need them forms to put in your IOI folder.

Awesome. Thus far a personnel security specialist reviews it and then an agent. Everything checks out it goes to OPM I believe. My experience thus far.

Good to see everyone's process is working out similarly. Met with the ATF BI yesterday. Said his part will take 2-3 weeks but had no idea how long it will take to adjudicate.

I currently have a Secret from DOD. Does anybody have any insight if that will help at all?

From what I have heard it helps having a clearance because that helps them with their background. Also it shows that you are clean because you currently have/had a clearance.

                  What location?

Does ATF do their own background investigations? I had been the under impression this would be an OPM investigator.

                  I'm almost sure it's OPM.

My guy was an Special Investigator for ATF. He mentioned they do their own investigations which are faster than OPM but still not super quick.

When I met with my investigator, he was as a Special Investigator from ATF.

Interesting. Maybe they are using their own investigators to speed up the process?

I've heard that many agencies with the bigger budgets are sick of the wait and backlog and doing their own now. DEA from what I heard from their former Administrator was that they were going to look into doing their own or contracting out to the FBI.

Spoke to my investigator today for my sit-down. They are using ATF personnel to conduct the sit-down for your SF86.

Awesome. Thanks for the update. Still no word for mine since updating an ATF agent with my mom's citizenship stuff. Accepted and that was that. I didn't ask for a timeframe unfortunately.
