I interviewed on 08/31. Now it's just the waiting game. From what I have been told, it typically takes a month to a month and a half before you hear anything, so I am not expecting to hear anything before mid-October.
During my interview they told me that the next two classes would be in January and July 2018.

From what I was told is that if you got the FEDEX package for a particular location, you pretty much got it. As long as you pass everything else.Comment

From what I was told by the ATF-HR, you still may not get the job even after you have completed all the prerequisites. If you get any correspondence stating when you will be going to FLETC then I think that would be the appropriate time to start lighting some cigars. But the correct question-at this point-would be the question Zenryoman asked about being a "Leading Candidate." I will call HR on Monday and see if that is the case.Last edited by SknarBeu84; 09-16-2017, 11:47 PM. -
I should do the same. If anything I have learned from every fed app so far is to apply and forget until THEY remind you. Only exception I see is when people get antsy for class dates. Update: I just now called and HR lady said all their email state "candidate" and not "leading candidate" and that everything is up in the air until a final selection is made and offered.
Also, I asked about if answering "yes" to any question on the OP306 is an auto disqualifier and she said no. My understanding it is always a case by case basis on that.

Just sent in the remainder of additional documentation they had requested for the SF86. Now it's cross my fingers. Anyone else put in for the NY spot?👍 1Comment

Zenryoman...from the drug test to SF86 I believe 2 weeks. I don't remember exactly. But keep in mind that not everyone has to complete an SF86. It's to the agency's discretion. I do remember it was fast. We applied in May, I interviewed July 17th, went on vacation for 21 days the day after the interview, received notification of the FedEx package while I was 2 weeks into my vacation, turned in FedEx package August 14, took drug test probably a week or two after, turned in SF86 August 31 after it was kicked back for corrections (seven calendar-days completion requirement), and on Saturday turned in supporting documentation they had requested (which I had 10 business days to complete). That is the jist of my time-line. They are moving pretty fast. Faster than any other agency I had applied for. I hope it's just as fast for everyone else.

Just got an email from PSD Intake that I needed to redo my SSN authorization so I faxed it right back correct. They have started my screening to check for completion of forms, pre-employment screening and reciprocity check. Pending that if no reciprocity exists they will send me the sf86 with 5 days to fill it out.
Doubt I will get any reciprocity. I only have a bombed CBPO app over a year ago and an old DOD Secret.Comment

From what I've heard if you have already had a top secret SF86 completed in the past you should be good. It just depends if the ATF Investigator wants additional info from you. Currently have a secret and public trust clearance. Envious of all you top secret guys.👍 1Comment

Just got my request to fill out SF86. Works for me. I'd rather answer all questions with hot coals under my feet and make sure everything is so accurate it hurts. Besides that stuff changes and friends come and go so best to be on point with who you list.Comment
