Has anyone applied to the most recent opening? Was looking to see if anyone had any more info on the hiring process. Also does anyone on the job know how placement works after training? I see you have to work in D.C after FLETC, but do you move to the area you applied to after a certain amount of time? Any info is appreciated.

It's not a guarantee that you have to serve in D.C. I have a friend who is a USPP Sgt and he advised me that a bunch of guys went straight from FLETC to NY office. I've wanted to throw my hat in the ring with them but the announcement states that the process will only be done in the DC and San Fran area. Don't think I can make all those trips throughout the process. I'm in tune with what the process and department is like if you have more questions.

Thanks for the info, does he know if theres a choice in which office you get sent to or is it where they need you the most? I chose NY as my geographic availability but I know for several agencies its based on operational needs

It is based on operational needs. You can request where you want to go and see how that goes. D.C. Is much more active than NY or San Fran and that's where most recruits will go. NY tends to be more standing post type work.

Yes, you can move to a different field office when new recruits come in or other people transfer.

You're probably looking at 6 months or a little longer. They conduct a very professional hiring process.

Most agencies do except some professional hiring processes take more than a year lol.

Any idea how many recruits they usually hire at a time?

Figureout, there are plenty of agencies that give you the run around and don't extend the courtesy of even letting you know if you've advanced. That was my point. Park Police is transparent and fair throughout. Furthermore, they don't usually take a year or more in their process. I can see you're the snarky, sarcastic and condescending type.

Is the exam registration still open?
Going to assume it has since closed as I can't seem to find it anywhere including USAjobs.

Just got my invitation email to sign up for the PEB event, still deciding whether San Fran or D.C. would be easier for me to get to since I'm in CO. Anyone else? Hoping there's not 200 other applicants going at the same time for just a handful of spots, though the announcement did say "many vacancies".
