The sad part about this application process, is the longer it takes the more consideration I have to put into whether to accept it or not.

A friend sent me this latest Rank of government agencies.

Interesting. USMS and FBI rank really high comparatively. I currently work for a #213 fed LE gig and love it. So I wouldn't base a decision to heavily off of that number. But it's a good measuring stick for comparing apples to apples I suppose (ie USMS vs ATF). But even then, it's an agency rating by all employees so it may be a case of front office people rating it poorly and special agents rating it highly. So the ranking doesn't necessarily correlate to an agent position.

          • ACCTtoSA are you going to share what cities were offered or you just the keeper of the list lol?

Well, I passed the ELAC portion yesterday and they were administering Polys as well but didn't have enough resources to do everyone. On to the next step. 15min response time for results. I guess it does help that your cleared and in e-qip since they referred to my packet as expedited (whatever that means or defined).

            • I'm happy for each brother that has made it through the process and has gotten the final call. However, I'm not going to lie. It's hard not to be jealous. I finished my background and medical months ago and haven't heard a word since. I was in training with the agent who did my background last week and he told me he didn't know anything and to just standby to standby. Congrats to those who have made it though! I'm not giving up hope.

                • On a different note:

Thoes that have worked with service agents in the field, what do they wear on a daily basis? I can't imagine they are in suits everyday. I'm a Polo, 5.11covert and merrrell boot kind in my current LE gig.

I'm listening as well bc all I've seen are suits in the field office...

                    • I went back through about 200 pages on this thread and walked away wondering how many people are really left in this process. Over those 200 or so pages many people chimed in for a short while only to never make another post. I also figure we only make up 1/4 to 1/3 of the applicant pool.

This is just where my mind is right now.

Haha! I think every time it gets copied it spaces out more and more as to add emphasis! I just copied it from the previous Keeper of the List.

When I initially dropped my security packet, I thought I walked into casual Friday, but it was a Wednesday or something. Every other time I've seen suits.
