Another good tip (if you have the same examiner)---wear a watch, because your phone/wallet/keys, etc. will be in a different room. I remember he asked what time it was and I said I didn't know and I was told that a man my age needs to grow up and invest in a good watch.

I always wear one now. It's a crappy one, but I've worn it every day since.
Haha, I wonder if you had the same guy I did! He made me leave my purse outside the room, and I always use my phone or a computer or something nearby for the time since my watch battery died. I was signing the form that asked for the time and I knew what time it was give or take about 5 minutes since it hadn't been too long since we had started, but I wanted to be precise, so I asked him what time it was -- he suddenly got such an attitude and told me the time but then told me I should be able to figure out what time it was myself. I couldn't tell if he was joking or being serious or somehow messing with me, since up until that point he had been really friendly.

    • Well, I have cleared all steps. Now I guess I am "on the shelf."

Does anybody have any idea when the next class will be in 2012? What about how many classes there will be?

I cannot imagine there not being at least a few classes in 2012

      • I asked this question on the ICE board already, so I figured I would throw it out here.

If you get deployed on Military Orders does your process just halt, and get picked up where it left off upon return?

        • New here.

          Hey Guys.
I have been following this forum for about six months now. Finally I decide to join, because I got quite far in the process (I think). I took my poly over month ago, It was quick(about 3hours) examiner told me that he thinks I did pass and I should just wait for a results, he told me- that they will call me to schedule medical soon. It’s over a month now, and I didn’t hear anything from them. But some agents show up in my work last Thursday and Friday and got copies of some documents and training history etc. Did any of you experience something like that??????
          Simon1017 (M/31/Marine Inspector): 12/10 Applied, TEA 02/11, Initial 05/11, Panel 7/11, Poly 10/11

I think it's rare that anyone gets any kind of official notification that they passed the polygraph, and it sounds as if they've started your background check, which of course means you did pass, so that's a good sign.

Yep, just waiting for "the call" . . . sometimes patiently, sometimes not.

Any word from your FO? I have to believe this will all happen sometime in 2012.

What I heard from them last month when I checked in was that there was no update and they were waiting for a budget to be passed. I'm hoping that Congress will pass a budget by the Nov. 18th deadline that will allow them to plan for classes in 2012 and hopefully calls will go out before the end of the year.

                    • Poly crossed the 5 hour mark. That being said, I think it went well. It was an interesting experience.

The best advice I can give is take a watch (like some suggested - THANKS), and just let it all out at the beginning. I went prepared with a document that listed anything that may have been bothering me. It may have given them more ammunition, but in the end my conscience was clear. I had nothing to worry about and i think it showed.

They said it would take 6-8 weeks. We'll see I guess.

I don't know, but if you're in this situation, you'll need to let your FO know, so I would recommend asking them when you do so.

                              • Congrats on passing the poly.

In my experience, my references were contacted by phone. The only people the investigator met with in person (besides myself) were my work supervisors and references.
