  • I am feeling pretty good about the strength portions, I am not maxing out on everything yet, but I feel pretty good that I can be by the time I report. Finding a good place to run is a challenge lately, I ran outside for a long time, but the temperature has gone south quickly here in Ohio. I hope to be at FLETC before I have to shovel my driveway too many times, haha.

Good Luck during training raptured_00. I have been following your timeline, I am processing out of the same FO.

    • I'm new to Post though I'm not going for either a UD or SA position in the secret service I'm still in the same waiting game, as an IT. I just wanted to know has anyone else noticed a call slump lately or if there is the chance it will pickup this week. I really want a Christmas Call!

For the IT position to which you applied, do you report directly to your duty post upon receiving The Call or do you still have to go through FLETC? If you didn't take TEA/POST test or have the Medical exam, assume you won't be receiving law enforcement / criminal investigative training or attending FLETC, just USSS IT duty-specific training.

I've added you to the timeline since the info can be helpful for timeline comparison.

To my understanding I get a certain time period before I have to report for relocation after receiving the call from either Chicago or D.C. once they get word from Security, then I do a bit of training, and proceed to my regular duties afterward. No FLETC to my knowledge.

Then there is no reason to send to FLETC.

I highly doubt you will "carry", if so that training can happen at JJRTC.

              Good luck.
No FLEO, or reason for FLETC, but still waiting on the same call process Up_On_Base, and its killing me since the organization I'm with may be relocating to another state soon. As you can see by the timeline, nearly a year since I applied, but I moved through my process quick so no complaints on that part.

                - sprint baseline to baseline 3 time...then break
                - same as above but on return to original baseline I sprint backwards.

                - sprint to half court and return, then sprint full court.
                - same as above but run backwards to baseline.

                - run a set of suicides...repeat again backwards.

                - set of full court sprints...10 total

This will take about 15 mins...but if you push yourself it will work.
This will definitely improve my times. I just tried this morning and maybe it's because i'm just getting over a cold, but this sprint workout ripped my face off. i will be doing this more often since i apparently need to.

i got through 3 sets of sprinting 4 times end-to-end: Each set being three sprints forward and sprinting the 4th backwards, with 1 min breaks between sets.
One set of suicides (sprinting baseline to freethrow line and back, to halfcourt and back, to far freethrow and back, then full court and back).
About here i wanted to die.
Then after a couple mins break, did 4 quick laps around court and called it a morning.
Now that I know what I'm getting into, next time I'll plan to do the full-court sprints at the end and the backwards suicides as well. I can tell this will help build my legs and leg speed up.

I just completed Shaun T's 60 day Insanity program and I HIGHLY recommend it. It's a beast of a program that seriously kicks your ***. I absolutely love it. I actually just started it all over again after ordering the deluxe upgrade to add a weight routine, and I will be adding the pull-up/sit up/push up training recommendations from the sealswcc.com workup to BUD/S guide this time around.

I definitely recommend checking out Insanity though because it's hardcore and gets you in wicked good condition so you can conquer the physical demands of FLETC and Beltsville. If anyone wants to know more, shoot...

                  • While we're on the subject, does anyone know where I can view the USSS physical fitness standards (excellent, good, average levels)? If I can't find something official, I'd be happy to take something unofficial.

                        • Nicely done, Kdubb!

                          Couple notes:

                          The 20-29 sit-ups 1 pt range is 33-37, not 23-37.

The chart for Fitness Norms / Male states "Must score minimum of 7 points and at least one point in three of the four fitness categories on the assessment to continue training upon return to RTC from FLETC."

"10 points and at least 1 point in each" may be the RTC graduation requirement? Perhaps someone can confirm/clarify.

                          • Why have things slowed down? Not many applicants getting "The CALL". Do we now expect them to get back in the new year? I have had my poly on 8/25/09 and BI started. I once called the BI Agent and his assistant said that your BI case has long been completed. Since then, no news/call.. I am getting a little worried...

The powers of copy and paste! I believe the rest of you info is correct. That's the same info I was told.

USSS hope...have you had your home interview yet? I was wondering the same thing about the calls. Looking on the bright side, at least calls aren't going out left and right and you're not getting a call! I'm holding on strong for an early Christmas present!

I had my HI in September, so I am in a similar boat as you I think. Hopefully, they would have sent the "thanks, but no thanks" by now.

kdub1811, I am tired of staring at my phone, so I am convincing myself that it won't be until after the new year's before any calls!

Good luck to all, and maybe we will be in the same class when it is all said and done.
