just as he stated.. don't stress about it.. just make sure when you get there that you focus on your study habits.. don't get sucked into drinking every night.. i had been out of school for over 15 years and i passed without having to retest any tests.. just have fun and take it all in..

Pay attention to your instructor. Ask questions when you're unsure of something. Find a good partner to train with and don't be a moron. You'll be fine. The guys in my class who have struggled have struggled because they screw off in class.

You're reading it the wrong way.

It's not about failing more people, it's about making sure that the guy next to you knows how to shoot well.

            Look at it this way...

It's 2015. You're on a two week TDY to Del Rio, TX. You're standing in post-primary with another officer when suddenly a skittish drug mule figures he's been made and bolts the port in a path that puts you 35 yards from being crushed under his pickup. There's no safe place for you to go.

Who do you want for a partner?

A: The guy who barely qualified under the old watered-down firearms qualification.

            Or...

B The guy who barely qualified under the the current, more difficult course of fire.

I'm sure you'll learn most of what you need at FLETC but you can find the CBP Inspector's Field Training Manual online here:

              http://www.ilw.com/immigdaily/News/2008,0513-cbp.pdf

naturally, due to the nature of the organization, it is significantly redacted.

It will give you a basic overview as well as information regarding different visa classifications and maximum authorized stays in that category...

If you're anything like me I try to prepare as much as possible for these things to stay ahead of the curve.

Curiously enough, I always wondered if (when the officer scans the visa) the computer tells them the maximum authorized stay??? Anyone know the answer to this?

                • I'm getting ready to head down to FLETC and I was wondering if FLETC is still double bunking some of the students even though they've canceled several classes this summer?

Most people in the TAJ have been getting roommates. It's really a crapshoot. You're coming down right when a class is graduating from the crackhouses so there is a good chance you could end up there. If that's the case you will have the room to yourself and share a bathroom.

Which would you prefer? From what I have read it seems like the TAJ is nicer but farther away from majority of the campus. Did your class stay in the crackhouses? If so what are your thoughts?

The TAJ is nice, but I couldn't stand a roommate for 16 weeks or taking a bus everyday. I'm in the crackhouses right next to the G-Bar and the classroom. I love the location.

In that case I'll be hoping for the crackhouses, but I really don't care either way. I'm just hoping not to have a roommate.
