  • Hey guys,

After several messages, my guy in DC (Internal Affairs) called me after a week. He said that he won't be able to get to my case for a couple of weeks but that my background investigation was completed. I asked him if he knows how long the process will be on his side....he said that he did glance at my file and said that there are issues that he will need to go over concerning my past jobs. But he said that he was just scanning through it. IF in any case I get a letter thats finds me unsuitable with CBPO...I want to know if anyone out there got a letter about their past employee issues. What were the causes and what did you do to appeal the case. I just want to be prepare. Thank you for your time.

Did someone at your port tell you this?
      "Officer, you are kinda hot."

      "And you are kinda intoxicated."

      • TSU vs. Being Fully Cleared

What is the difference between being in TSU and being fully cleared? I see some posts about people who were put in TSU and haven't completed the background investigation yet... also, after checking my dates, I was put into TSU without my background investigation clearing yet... how do we know when our BI is cleared and we are REALLY good to go...? Thanks.

Tuesday through Friday are the "waiting days" for me. Day 69 in TSU for LAX/LB. I took the written test for CHP last Saturday out of desperation I guess. Actually it was not bad at all since there was no math although 1,600 tested that day.

          • just joined this forum although i've been reading for a while and thought I'd chime in. Day 110 in TSU for Washington - All Others geo pref.

Called last week and found out that the same guy who was in front of me when I entered TSU is still the first one waiting for the call. His TSU is January 31st... Just an update for those of us in the Wa-all other geo pref.

My TSU is March 5th and I was told last week that I've got approx. 6-9 people in front of me in the line up. It's really hit or miss with the Minn. Hiring Center as far as how helpful or not they can be. Hope that timeline helps someone.

Just keep in mind that "next year" is Fed speak for October, not January. Not that that is much comfort, but still.

For anyone coming down this summer, get in shape now. I'm a life long runner and even jogging in this heat is beyond brutal. They won't run you as a class when it's blazing hot outside. But if you come down completely out of shape you're going to need to do some serious running after hours.

So unless you like running at 10 PM, get in shape NOW.
That's what I was thinking, that since the fiscal year for them ends in Sept, that it would be safe of me to assume that I wouldn't hear anything at least this summer. Just stinks that one gets their hopes up when you first get TSU, and now it seems forever hehe.

I hear ya' about the running, I've been trying to keep up with the running, but Miami weather just kills you.

              • I am finally able to post after failed attempts to register. I've been checking this site for a while now. It's comforting to know there are so many who are as frustrated as I am. I've been in TSU for Vermont since January. My frustration stems from the fact that I live in Florida and the reason I chose Vermont was because on the announcement last year, it was said to be a geopgraphical area that was high in need. I have since come to learn that if I had applied for Florida, I would already have a job. How frustrating.

Also, I am unable to get as much information from the TSU people as some of you are. They won't tell me where I am in line and stuff like that.

Between this forum, the delphi, what I hear from those in Vermont, and the little information I have gotten from TSU, I am somewhere between lost and confused about when I may be getting the call.

If anyone works in Vermont or knows anything about what it's like there, I would appreciate any information offered. Or if anyone knows anything about hiring needs, overtime, etc.

Good Luck to everyone. Looks like I need some too.

If you graduate FLETC and they let you keep your badge, you are good to go.

Thanks for the info, Pendingville. With a child coming in 2 months, I don't mind waiting a little longer. Perfect opportunity to read up on some laws, working on that bench press and gain a little more weight. My goal is to get to 135lbs.

I don't know how to answer your question, but I can speculate mainly by my age. I am only 26 years of age. The smaller age gap, the more likely you don't have a lot history behind you. I tend to keep myself out of trouble. I graduated from college 2 years ago and only work at one job since graduation. I believe the more friends you make the more liability you become. That's my hypothesis.

Yeah, the less complicated life you've led, the better. Even still, thats about as fast as i've ever heard.
