+1 - if its not too personal I was always curious about this since you are the only person ive ever seen with this issue

I vaguely remember you saying something a while ago about a very long written response back to them, something like 8 [written] pages and I was like uhhh..

My nopa was extremely complicated and required tons of extra paperwork but I was legally advised to never write long drawn out responses cause it confuses them over here, so I ended up writing one paragraph to accompany my extra paperwork. Anyway, I have always been curious about what exactly happened if you care to share, maybe someone can help you..

            • About My NOPA

For those of you wanting to know,
I have discussed the contents of my NOPA here previously...
              But here goes:
-On my 4hr meeting with the investigator, when he brought up my traffic violations, I giggled. Being the only things I had on my record, I let out a nervous giggle, when he brought them up, to which he said to me "you think this is funny" to which I replied "no sir" and we moved on. From this (30 sec from the 4 hrs) he wrote on his report that I was "unresponsive and uncooperative, and had to be reminded of the seriousness of the situation". I had to address that on my NOPA.
-They looked and asked about my credit report: to explain why I had one closed account with 0 balance still show up on the report, why there were conflicting addresses (to which if they used a bit of common sense they would see the wrong addresses were simply similar to the actual addresses reported, but in different cities/states).
-Unexplained affluence, being that I'm unemployed and they wanted to know how I was getting my bills paid.
-Somewhere in my paperwork or report there was a statement that I had received 10 traffic violations in 2 years (untrue), I had to explain and provide proof (driving history report) that I had not!...
-My mother is currently married to a Foreign National, to which I had to provide his information.

This about sums it up for my NOPA...

                ah I remember now..

its like when a cop pulls you over and they decide to take it to the limit and start writing unnecessary tickets.. It feels like your BI had it out for you for several of those things :/

                • Guess it's not such a good thing to giggle at your background questions...I remember joking and laughing with my BI.. all 3 of them the 2 over the phone I called just to inquire and chatted with them for 5 mins or so all was very nice, the in person BI he was a sweetheart it was around christmas time and I even offered him cake that I baked and something to drink being that he was a guest for 5 hours in my house. It really depends on who you get but once you get a feel for their personality you can go with the flow but in a professional manner....I lucked out and i'm glad for everyone I had administering my tests..all good people.

Overall, I kicked the crap out of it. I only wrote down 3 questions that I wanted to go back and make sure I made the correct response (on the logic & written).

I was born and raised there and my parents still live there. It gave me some time to spend with family as well.

                    • Yoda,
Thanks for listing your nopa stuff again. I was curious to know as well. After reading your post I expect to get a nopa after I meet with my investigator (if that finally does happen), because I haven't worked in 1 1/2 years. So I guess I'll get to wait even longer. Yyyaaayyy

Thats so true, I was lucky as well. My BI was joking around and even laughing at some of the stuff I told him. Overall he had to be one of the nicest investigators with DHS; he was very helpful and cooperative with me.

Yep, it's like anything else in life. Some people are cool and down to earth and others just want to make life difficult. Just gotta roll with it and hope for the best.

                          • Got a call this morning for my background, they just needed to update some information that wasn’t really clear on my application. Its just my luck that one of my references changes his number after I submitted the application lol. But the lady on the phone said it was not a big problem and that was the reason that she called. She also told me that I should be hearing from my BI in about 7-10 days.

                            • BTW, I was surprised with the amount of people that were dressed as thugs and just the overall "look" of the the majority of people at the test. I know you can't judge a book by the cover, nor should I judge... but wow.

I remember when people were getting calls every week for SF/Oak and other large ports. Now, it's just stopped.
I am around 44 days for TSU, SF/OAK. SF/OAK use to pick people up within 7-10 days of entering TSU.
                                The wait goes on.
