Only 2 hours! It took me about 36 hours to get through that LOL.

36 hours? How did that happen?

          • The closer you are to the end the worse the wait is. I can't stand it.
You shut your mouth when you're talking to me!

That's what I was thinking too. But I had no idea how the topic was shifted from reviewing the answers with the background investigator to initially completing the SF86.

                I will echo that statement.

My VBT results took almost 2 months.

                  • So, I just got a package in the mail from MHC. Not good. I am not medically cleared because my medical showed a history of back and neck pain. I never ever said anything about that. Apparently, I mentioned that I go to the Chiropractor. They took that as back and neck pain. What a friggin crock. Now I have to schedule an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon! This is ridiculous. They didn't seem to care about the shoulder injuries that I disclosed.

Word to the wise for those yet to have medical screening: Keep your mouth shut about anything other than a major injury!

                    • Not to worry Sakic. This should likely not set you back, in the great scheme of things. I have no idea what other steps you need to have cleared, but if you're still waiting for your BI to clear, this is more of an inconvenience than anything else. I had the same thing for admitting that I had childhood asthma, and I had to go to a pulmonologist to have him clear me. Mine took about a month to clear on CASS, once they had all their paperwork. Just let the surgeon know how crucially important it is that their paperwork be finished in a timely manner. You know, the whole "this is my entire life on hold, just waiting for you to hurry up and finish" type thing.

                      • I am still waiting on the BI, but I almost feel like they are waiting for my medical before they start.

I was able to get an appointment for Friday morning, so I'm happy about that.

What cracks me up is that they want physical therapy records. I don't have any!! I see a chiropractor, not a physical therapist.

                        • Working in construction for ten years, I've had my share of back aches. Isn't that normal wear and tear? I don't go to a chiropractor or anything but is that something you disclose? After I hit the bench for chest and tri's my chest is sore, is that chest pain?

                          • KOR3-

This is nuts. I don't always go because of pain. There is much more to chiropractic than treating back and neck pain. I guess they wouldn't be interested in knowing that I haven't had a cold or called in the 5 or so years I've been seeing a chiropractor regularly and my allergies are all but gone.

Believe me, I never said anything about having back or neck pain in the medical interview. I can only guess that I mentioned going to a chiropractor.

The idiocy of making me see an orthopedic surgeon for this is beyond my comprehension.

That's why I'm suggesting to keep disclosure to a minimum in the medical review. Luckily, seeing the specialist will only cost me a $15 copay.

                              • Sakic,

Did you try calling the Med Dept? Maybe it was just a misunderstanding that can be cleared up. The worst that they can tell you is that you have to go. Check over the copies of the paperwork that you sent them. Maybe you checked a wrong box somewhere. Just a thought.
