The search authority of a Federal Officer is completely different than the search authority of State and Locals. The BP Agent is right, you only need "mere suspicion" to further inspect someone at a checkpoint/border. By not answering a simple question, such as, "what is your citizenship?", there is the Agent's mere suspicion to further inspect. If people don't like the way the borders are run here then move to another Country. It's time to appreciate what CBP does to protect our Homeland.
