My BI started several months ago. I've met with my investigator a few times, and he has interviewed my co-workers, and former employers. I'm not sure how much is left, but I know he has filed at least one report on me to Washington. So in my case, that is definitely not true.

I did see on some of my paperwork a big red "Expedited" stamp, so maybe that is why.

    • I would like to change my Port of Choice from Alaska to Charleston, SC. Is it possible, will I have to wait for new TO for that Port? Also, I received a 76 on the written exam, is that sufficient to get a port of choice?

If you havent gotten a tentative offer, you can change your location of choice. Your score has nothing to do with your location, just depends on how many people are in the pipeline for that location already.

        • I received a TO for Alaska, but in all honesty, my new wife and I would like another location. I know it would mean waiting even longer, but wouldn't mind the wait if it means a better location.

                    Barnaj,

What's the number for the BI people, or do they give that out?

I am sick of waiting, I want to change jobs but I don't want to start a new job and do all that training if they are going to call me. This is LAME.

                        • I noticed that the pay scale for CBPO is 29,726.00 -$36,822.00 per year. Why is it so low? Local PD/Sheriff's here in socal are making a lot more starting out.

Those are for GS-5 or GS-7. The pay amount listed is the lowest possible for those pay grades. If you live in a high cost of living area your pay will be more. If you live in SoCal you probably will start higher, based on the higher cost of living. You are kept at the pay grade you're hired at for one year, then you go up two pay grades. If you're hired as a GS-5 then you'll go to GS-7. This happens all the way up to GS-11. You'll find most federal jobs that offer extensive training before you actually start will start you off around GS-5/7. Here is a link to the federal pay chart. Find your city and check what you will starting pay would be.

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new guards for their future security.

For the intelectually challenged: If the government screws the people enough, it is the right and responsibility of the people to revolt and form a new government.

                            • I had an active "Q" clearance for the Dept. of Energy done by OPM as recent as 6 months ago, could some of that transfer over to this BI?
