  • CBPO's have 24/7 carry privileges. The particular policy details, like traveling on a plane and other things, shouldn’t be posted on an open site like this, IMO. You’ll learn all things firearm policy-wise and more once you attend the academy.

    • I've noticed a lot of questions being asked lately that have already been answered before in past pages of this thread.

Read the entire thread folks, especially the new guys. The answers to your current questions, as well as answers to questions you've haven't gotten around to ask await you within these pages.

      • Don't go to CASS. Call the status line, it's faster. Here is the number: 612-467-7040, enter your Applicant ID and your last four of your SSN. This is updated quicker than CASS. Good luck, you'll be ok. Hang in there guys!

I would take the NYPD job if I were you.

And I hope you do. Better retirement, same or better pay, and better benifits.

I am a CBPO by the way..

              • Ok, that is fine.

Just don't call me dude. lol.

My call on taking the NYPD instead of CBPO, is only in your best interest. I hope you understand that. I know you have no way knowing that I am sincere, but I am. I have nothing to loose.

Of course take the first job. But if the NYPD calls you, even if you are in the academy, take the job. Even if you finish the academy, and NYPD calls, you should take it.

                Good luck!

I was thinking the exact same thing...since internet access seems to be limited

Yes, the investigation is the same for both BPA and CBPO. So when you apply for BPA in CASS under background investigation it will say "completed".
