I currently work at ORD. What do you want to know? I usually only go to CBP Delphi Forum, but I've been extremely bored. Shoot me a PM on Delphi. My username there is AZplease.

Chicago here. Applied 12/2019 for 20-3. Finished everything up within 2 months, aside from the drug/poly as of now. This is where I wait lol. How was the process at O’Hare for you? That’s where I plan on going since I live within 30 minutes of it.

dlugan, hows O’Hare dealing with all this going on? I’m planning on there once this is all complete. 50% in CASS, had my interview there in February and that’s the last step I’ve completed (aside from EQUIP, Medical, Physical, etc.)

Just a heads up, drug tests results are on a noticable delay. I took mine 1st week of March but no result has been posted. Hoooooooooowwweverrrrrr, I received a call last week for a location and class date. September for FLETC. It's been over 2 years, I suppose they felt sorry for me. I cant even get excited. Just working out and quaranteaming with my family.

  • 19-5, VRA here checking in. Finally cleared medical, 50% now. Anyone know best practice to update my address as I've moved since I've applied?

Just emailed an address on the app I found. Also is Newark, NJ a good possibility for location?

JL85 I applied for Nogales. I was also told during my SI that they were hiring faster than he had ever seen before for officers going to the southern border. Dang virus!

tx_forever yeah that’s what I was told too! Sucks but it is what it is, that’s life! I applied for San Ysidro border but if all goes well I’d like to head to AZ or Texas because the cost of living but hopefully things look good for everyone trying to get on!

mine took 15+ months before the virus. I applied Dec 2017 and I got my EOD info March 2020 JL85

  • How’s everyone doing, I am fairly new to this forum but have been keeping up with everyone’s much needed information. I am 20-4 and just received my medical clearance, now the long wait for the polygraph begins, just curious if anyone on here has applied to a southern border?

Theone720 I took my initial medical exam 2/18/20 and was requested to for additional stuff on something later that week and they gave me a month to do it. Turned in my follow up stuff on 3/14/20 and was cleared on 3/31/20. My CBP app is green lighted but I haven’t received my email from actual CBP but my medical status is clear now. Where did you apply brotha?

JL85 I applied for location negotiable with all my process being done at the Buffalo Field Office. My top was Detroit the. Newark. But realistically would probably go anywhere

StevenMal Sorry to hear brother, if it helps, maybe the southern border process move a little "faster" than others? Not sure just kinda seems like it.

  • I applied for southern border direct hire also 20-4. On medical review.

I applied for Nogales as well (20-5; waiting on poly). I was told during my SI (pre Covid-19) that they were hiring faster than he had ever seen before for the southern border and getting people hired on and sent to FLETC within 6-8 months. Bad timing for a global pandemic.

  • I understand the virus is rampant now more than ever, however, I still can't believe in 4 short weeks I will be one year into this process and still remain at 50% complete pending a poly, background and drug screening. Very disheartening to see others apply after me and complete the entirety of the process before me.

I too am at 50%.....waiting patiently to get scheduled for the poly. I’m already at 14 months since I first applied and now with this pandemic, and recent email....I’m afraid the wait will be longer.

It might be the port you’ve chosen. I applied 12/2019 and hit 50% in 2 months. From everything I’ve read the East and Southern coasts take much longer.

  • I just applied for the GS- 5 position and took my In person exam the other day. Nevertheless, today they just posted the same position but a direct hire. Is there anyway I can switch over? Also does the direct hire actually make that much of a difference for a GS-5 position? Thanks.

If you have any issues in background or medical, you move no faster.

Just apply for the position. You can apply for the multiple announcements and they'll use your exam results after a year to any announcement. They'll filter out which one you will be in during the final offer stage

  • Looks like they pushing applicants through drug test before clearing BI

Just got a call to do my Drug Test and I didn't even start my BI yet I am pretty sure I don’t have provisional clearance either.

Yes, I took my drug test yesterday and my Bi hasn't started. I am application cycle 20-1.

  • I think direct hire works great if you are VRA, Or have a squeaky clean background, and have lived in one place lol. Who knows ? Just be happy to be apart of the process and keep hope alive.
