Slap my ***** and call me Charlie, you were right. According to him, there are a handful of ports that still have them in lockers.

Also, no carbine/shotgun training for CBPOs.
    "Officer, you are kinda hot."

    "And you are kinda intoxicated."

    • At the academy all you get is what you need to be a basic officer. That means the only firearms training you'll receive is on the pistol.
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new guards for their future security.

For the intelectually challenged: If the government screws the people enough, it is the right and responsibility of the people to revolt and form a new government.

      • Hi, New here, glad to have found you guys!

I searched but was not able to find an answer....my Geo Pref is WA-all other locations. Hoping for Port Angeles or even Spokane. What are the odds of that vs. Seattle? Big cities are not really my thing!

        Thanks!

        Hey what are your stats?

        • I had to provide additional info for my medical. Does the medical review by the specialist take all of the 2-4 weeks they suggest? I am hoping some got it completed sooner.

          • Man .... just got my NOR of 85. Thought I would be at least into the 90s. Nonetheless, this has me worrying. Hopefully the pool isn't big for Virginia.

            • Score Reactivation

I took the CBPO exam in March 2008 and scored 98. I received a TO for Buffalo about a month later. I was scheduled for the VBT; however, I had to withdraw because I was out of state for training for my current position.

I reactivated my score in mid-November and was wondering if Buffalo generally hires a good amount of CBPO's and if I have a chance of getting another TO for Buffalo with that score.

Also, just wanted to say thanks to all for the great info on this thread.

Extensive training on the H&K and a short couple hour familiarization with a revolver towards the end of training. Just to bascially learn how to make it safe in case you ever come across one. I heard talk of them adding shotgun training, but no clarification on that.

                • WHAT THE HECK.........The hotline has been cleared for a week for me but cass has not updated yet! The hotline states " you are currently in process for the position of CBPO" , so i don't think i'm even in TSU yet, but everything is cleared. it's just so frustrating i took the written back in FEB 07, and i'm still waiting, i dont understand why either never had any problems with my background never a felony or a misdemeanor and a good driving record, sorry just had to vent, any advice??

well the phone line is just a voice network version of CASS, so dont worry about the online updates as they normally are behind the hotline. Hey take comfort in the fact that everything is complete (i think thats what you meant). Alot of people are in "pending" limbo. You'll have to do some research and see if NJ is well staffed or not.

Seattle has it's own geopref so it isn't at all likely that you would go there unless you change. It seems that as of late most everyone with your geopref (myself included) has been offered the Northern Border ports of Blaine and Sumas. There may also be Oroville if that hasn't filled up. PM me if you have any further ?s

                      • Quick question...
...When or if you get the call about an offer and you have a geo preference that has multiple duty locations within it. Is there any choice awarded to the applicant? Can you get on a waiting list for a specific POE? Or is it a "here is your offer and location" take it or leave it situation?

Usually you will get a couple of choices to choose from depending on your location. You basically have 24 hours to make a decision. There is no waiting list that I'm aware of, it's take it or leave it. There are plenty of people that they can go to the next guy on the list and he'll take the offer you rejected. They don't have the time or the resources to keep a waiting list.

                              For example:
You chose Michigan for you geo location. You get called for a job offer on Monday. They may say you can choose between the Detroit land border or Detroit Metro airport. Even though you wanted a different port, those are your choices. And they give you the 24 hours to talk to your wife or whoever. If you cant or wont go to any of your choices, thats the end of the line and your tossed out of the pool of applicants.

Thanks Barnaj, just checked cass for the billionth time and it has been updated, everything is complete. Would it say on there that my file is in TSU? just curious because it doesn't. i'm just so happy to be one step closer and see a little more progress.
