Does anybody have any tips?
I EOD to San Ysidro 1-28-2020, I've been looking for places to stay for the amount needed? Is that two weeks at San Ysidro and then I go to the academy? Does anyone know of cheap places we can stay for the duration? Any help would be much appreciated thank you.

Hi all,
I’m currently in the military and plan on transitioning out in Sept of 2021. When would be a good time to start applying as a CBPO in San Fran for a smooth as possible transition? Website says a year but based on most posts here, that’s probably not enough time. Thank you for any feedback.

19-3 Miami CBPO GS7
19-6 Tucson CBPO DH GS9
20-2 Minneapolis CBPO GS9
It’s been exactly one year now and still no polygraph. I choose Orlando as a polygraph location. Provisional clearance. Im literally going crazy. Turned down a police job, and put all my eggs in one basket because this is what I really want. Even more discouraging when I hear some of my co workers talk about their experience with the CBP polygraph but trying to stay positive.

Has it been 1 year since your SI? That’s usually when the Polly is, not one year from app date. Honesty dude I would just take the first LE job that comes your way... I mean if this is all you really wana do then it is what it is but Polly results seem to be completely random. Have other stuff in the pipeline dude do not rely on this, it’s so unpredictable... If you already have a good job and are doing this because you want to then more power to ya, but if you are looking to get your first real careers take what comes

Florida_Man I’m 19-2 Miami GS9 regular announcement.
I passed my poly in July and like you I chose to do my in Orlando. Got contacted if I wanted to take mine in West Palm Beach and said yes. Just try to be positive with the poly. Believe me I know it’s hard.
I am now 2 months in the background phase.

David1984 Thanks bro, and I got your direct message from a few weeks ago. I appreciate you’re advice. You’re almost there bud

Almost took longer to get approved to post here then to get hired by CBP. There doesn't seem to many AG specialists here. Bur I am 19-1 reg hire. Applied in June 2019, just waiting for the call now. No poly was required for me as it isn't always requested for AGS.

Mine showed up on Transunion under "account review inquiries" The date was within a week of my packet being submitted to OPR. The inquiry reads CBP via DatafactsDHS or something similar and states reason is employment

Thx guys and good luck in this forever process.... I've been reading this forum for months, but until I got the poly I didnt want to post anything thinking I'd jinx my chances.. lol but now I'm excited to hopefully get that infamous "call" everyone so highly anticipates from the day the app was submitted

First post thus far. I've been lurking on the forums for awhile. So I applied for BPA and CBPO (Both 20-2) and was selected for both (GS/GL-9). The timeline seems pretty quick (I guess) based off of some of the others I have seen.
Applied 11/15
Selected 11/22 (Posting closed 11/30????)
EQIP: 12/2
SI: 12/6
Pre-Security Interview: 12/6
Medical: 12/9
The BPA posting was a direct hire, CBPO was not. From what I have been told, the process is about 4 months long but from what I am seeing in the forums, I dont think that will be the case.....hoping mine keeps on moving along.

I can see 4 months on some DH if things go a certain way. I got my final call just under 4 months after applying (provisional). Still unsure how they decide when people get it. I've read the DHS letters on it, but it didn't help clear it up any.

Nousername1 I have only been waiting for 2 months for background phase

My process is moving at the same speed as yours but i am aware that for the poly its gonna be a super long wait.
EXAM 11/15
NOR EXAM PASS/ TENT OFFER 11/21
EQIP 11/25
MEDICAL 12/4

Can I have a 'southern border' DH application and an 'other than southern border' application going on at the same time? If so, when I get The Call, will i be given the option to choose from locations on the border and not at the border?

jdop7 that's what i did. Originally 18-9 DH Swb. Then i applied for another announcement reg hire 19-11. So all those hiring process from my original application went carried over to my second one, reg hire. And then i called them i was offered for the reg hire other than southern border location.

I did, and was offered both. However I was offered the higher paygrade in the SWB locations. They are really needing people down there. I had a GS5, GS7, and GS9 application in, along with a BPA GL9 application in which finished at the same time.
