BowMan2006 im unaware on how to comment to my post lol. Yeah you and me both man, I applied VRA assuming it’d be quick. My friend applied in May and had his poly a week ago....he passed and was told he’ll be scheduled for the June 2020 academy.....I moved my family back home up north, hoping it wouldn’t be more than a year. But it’s appearing to be much longer. Like being in deployment all over again.

19-1 Reg Hire
Still here. Still pushing forward.
It's been exactly 90 days since I had my Lasik done. For those who are unaware, if you get Lasik you have to wait 90 days to allow your eyes to heal before contacting the medical team.
Tomorrow I have an appointment with the treating physician for an updated eye exam and complete some medical docs DHS requested.
Hopefully my medical will clear quickly and I can finally move onto the polygraph.

Great!, mine took couple days to get clear after i turned in the paper work about lasik. i hope you will get clear soon too. -

Thanks! I can't believe I'm still at 38%. I've been watching your progress as well so I'm glad to hear it only takes a couple of days to clear.

2ndGenFed. no poly yet lol. this oct 19th will be 1 year mark since my SI lol. yeah, after i submitted, it only take couple days not even a week. they won`t send any email that your medical is clear. just continue check on your cass lol.

Good day all. I'm currently In the process for CBPO VRA GS9 20-1 and as of yesterday, 16 Oct 19, I passed all steps for the BPA VRA GL9 19-11.
Yesterday, 16 Oct 19, I took and passed my BPA PFT-1. Right after the exam, I received a call and e-mail to schedule the CBPO PFT-1. Will the results for the BPA PFT-1 carry over to the CPBO PFT-1? My bad if this question has been asked previously. Thank you.Comment

PFT-1 for BPA and CBPO are different, won't carry over, CBPO PFT-1 is easier, same requirements you gotta do, just less counts. Scrabulous -

So all things work out in the end. OFO contacted me today and offered gs7, and 9 positions. I took a gs7 paygrade to get the city i wanted right off the bat. My EoD is now March 16th. I turned down the offer with BP for an EoD of Dec 14th.
For everyone in the process just keep at it. Everything happens for a reason.Comment

raudy06 that's the best wait lol. I really hope to get called for earlier class dates, but I'm happy until then. I currently work for TSA so my time in will shift over at least. They had me email CBP my HR's information so they can get the paperwork started for the transfer so my time in doesn't lapse when I do go.

Got the call today. EOD Aug 28 2020. I'm still in the military and I get out on Aug 11th 2020 then roll right into EOD.Comment

MattCBP So I picked Phoenix Airport because I'm VRA. They put in a request and if that gets denied then I can pick some place else. I just have to have my port picked before EOD. I plan on staying in AZ. My wife is a nurse here and makes a lot more then I ever will so I cant take her away from the area. I'm 19-10

We are all working towards a career as CBP Officers where research will be conducted daily. With that being said I noticed that a lot of questions asked on the forum and in general can be easily answered with a few clicks of the mouse without waiting for a reply. No offense to anyone.Comment

So it's a good day.
I'm at 38% and received Lasik back in July. My medical still hasn't cleared. However, today was my eye appointment to have the doctor check my eyes and fill out some forms for DHS.
My vision is 20/15 and my eyes are healthy.
I sent the forms in and am waiting for my medical to clear. Then, the wait for the Polygraph.
Now the question I have is will they start my wait time from the date I cleared medical or the date from my Structured Interview?
I've read mixed responses.
I'm going to keep posting my timeline and will let everyone know but I really hope they choose the latter and consider that my SI was 11 months ago.
In the meantime, the wait continues.

Some people said waiting time start after your si some said different so not really sure. Tomorrow will be mine 1 year mark after si... if monday or next week i still not receive their call for appt so that mean they start the wait after we hit 50% lol -

I just received an email and voicemail stating that they're going to send me a fingerprint kit. Is this standard procedure? They already took my prints at my structured interview. This seems pretty redundant and a bit annoying honestly. I am glad though that my application is moving forward..Comment

sometimes fingerprints taken at SI can get "corrupted" or whatever so they send you a manual packet. just go to your local police department, have them do your prints and mail it back overnight so you dont lose anymore time. it happens, it happened to me . -

and make sure you put everything on their list on the print cards. I'd have your dept do a test print with their own cards first to make sure it's perfect. Because they will send you 2 cards and they want them both returned with al the information on them they want.

Hey guys 17-10 (location negotiable) here posting again. I got an update today saying my background was cleared and I was found suitable. After almost 2 years. From the beginning having issues with Eqip, not signing up for selective service having to jump a hurdle there with a letter from the government, taking the Polygraph not 1, not 2 times but 3 times and waiting 5 months for the background to clear. Theres finally a light at the end of the tunnel. Just drug test and finally the call. For all those out there keep going your time will come. Hoping to get Philadelphia.Comment

Evolution81 what was PT like? I’ve heard mixed things - some day it’s a complete joke (perhaps they are gym rats) and some say it was pure cardio based with mat room stuff mixed in? -
Evolution81 what were they sent home for? Was it like they just couldn't do it?. Im not the best at Cardio i can knock out 30 pushups easy in 1 minute my running is om for now, but im working on that part of it right now before i get there. Anything else we need to watch out for? I know how you feel about going from giving orders to tsking orders. Ive besn giving orders as a supervisor for 15 years so its going to be a change. But ill adjust. -
Pt is not hard just make sure you're not completely out of shape when you show up..make sure you can run without stopping before you get to the academy so you can work on speed...re cycle means get washed out and they send you again when you heal...you have 3 chances to pass the final fgs..if you cannot pass you are terminated..some people are able to come back but it's rare now...they aren't recycling people like they used too
