18-10 here, patiently waiting, or wish to be...I applied in 08/28/18, waited 38 weeks for my poly and today is my 408 day or 13 months 8 days since the day I applied. Met with investigator at the beginning of September 2019. Investigator said they had "48 days from start to turn in reports". Prior to our meeting, investigator was already working on my case, getting my school transcripts, running credit checks etc etc. It seems like the "meeting" and references check is towards the end of the investigation phase. Good luck everyone!

What point in the process do you meet with the BI? What point does provisional get offered? Eqip has been released to OPR

Everyone is different, but it's usually after the polygraph. Provisional is offered when you apply for the job. Basically it asks if you're offered it would you accept it. Awesome news getting your Eqip released. Keep us up to date for sure

whitjj72 you had a post yesterday asking about your BI. Its awhile out you didnt complete your SI even yet. You meet with the BI after polygraph if they dont select you for a provisional. If you have something in your background that you are unsure of dont take the provisional. Customs seems more lenient than other agencies in areas such as not disclosing information or work related if you can explain it. Just make sure you list it, everyone has issues they know that. They are looking to see that you own up to the issues and improved yourself. Just be patient and focus on the next step which is your SI. Good luck on it too.

Hello,
So I EOD november 15th and supposedly there may be another goverment shutdown. What does this mean if I'm at orientation and housing? I have an Airbnb and scheduled through my entire stay for 2 weeks.

SpenserJ9, we are in the same boat! We should be receiving our pre-Academy onboarding packets in a couple weeks. Just depends on the length of the Continuing Resolution (CR).

So I just got the call for border patrol agent. And they said later today I would get a call from customs. I have to decide between the two so far here are the cities that border patrol offered. Anyone has any insight please let me know. Hebbronville, Comstock, Brackettville, Presidio Sanderson, Vanhorn ,Sierra Blanca. Those are the cities in Texas they also offered me Calexico, Campo, brownsfield in California

If you are male, young, White/Hispanic, non-college educated, a type "A" personality, interested in "living to work" and don't mind limited relocation options...go BP. The more you're not in the above mix...especially the female, "work to live" and want relocation options crowd...OFO tends to be a better fit.

@Merlin436.... That was a great laugh. Thank you! Nothing like blunt honesty and painting a picture!

bowman- I’ve heard from some on here that BI doesn’t start until after SI but I spoke with DH today who said that’s not true. Eqip has been released to OPR so BI is ongoing as we speak. Although it may take a couple months, BI continues even though SI hasn’t started yet.

Dodge_Guy19-4 Yes I agree with you, my Equip was released on 8/6 and I have a soft inquire from DHS Customs on 8/7.
-
Annualcreditreport.com it showed up on my transunion report. Regular monitoring services dont show the inquiry, but your actual report will. That site will allow you to look at your report from the 3 major financial reporting agencies by law for free once per year from each agency. You can check them all at once or spread it out if you dont have monitoring that notifies you of potential fraud.
-
whitjj72 Sorry about the incorrect info, I had no idea they pulled or did agency checks prior to Poly. Thanks for the info Dodge_Guy19-4. I always thought other then running your prints BI started after poly, good thing I have been on top of my credit for the last 10 years lol.

Received a NOPA yesterday.
Theyre asking for an explanation in regards to something I said in a Poly back in 2014. great!

A NOPA? After a Poly back in 2014? I got inconclusive results back in 2015. And in all honesty, nothing significant happened in my life for me to get inconclusive back then and/or now in 2019 when I passed my 2nd round of polygraph testing. I live a pretty simple live, few to none stressors, family lover and mellow personality...Didn't you passed the polygraph already now in 2019? Or you still can get a NOPA even without taking it? I am a little confused....its just hard to keep track of how CBP does things now.
-
@sory_ann
What may have happened is something that was not listed was admitted to on a polygraph (I am strictly theorizing). Mind you this particular instance is the opposite of what they claim on their website IE "Applicants may reapply at any time. However, CBP polygraph examination results are valid for a two-year period".
-
V_AntCBP I met with the investigator back in August. They’re talking about a poly I took for a different agency in 2014.
sory_ann yes, I took that poly in 2014 for a different agency and didn’t pass.
This year, I took a poly for customs and did pass!
Levithane it’s actually something that I admitted to. They just want more info on it. No I didn’t commit a crime or do something illegal.

Ok so here is a question for anyone that knows for sure. If OFO doesn't tell me anything before my BPA deadline is over, and I accept a job with BP. Then hours or days later calls with an offer with them. Can I still take it and back out of the BP job without issue? Or am I stuck?

Working on my 3rd round of additional medical. Can’t believe how long this hiring process is! I applied for CBP mission support specialist last week and am pretty hopeful they select me for that. MSS position is a GS11, and my CBPO will start at GS9. If I start at MSS, then later get the call for CBPO, can I negotiate for GS11 pay?

18-3 Newark ( originally JFK)
My EOD is slowly approaching ( 11/18/19) when should I expect an official packet/letter with instructions for that?

So my update is my background investigator called and said he would be flying up next week. All well and good so I can finish that up.
As for the job offer I got yesterday morning with border patrol I called them back and left them my duty location choice. I was in called back this morning by them asking if I would still like to receive an offer from customs. I said of course I would but they never got a hold of me within the 24 hous. HR said they were going to put my border patrol job offer on hold until Customs made theirs. I tried emailing customs with only a generic auto reply in return. Really wish they would call so i could give this a final answer. I don't want to miss the BP job if OFO isn't going to make an offer.
