  • raudy06 Yea I got the call for EOD and Academy just yesterday.

    • I have a question, I am also in the process with ICE for Deportation Officer and just got a call to take a polygraph. I explained the person that I had one taken with CBP about 2 1/2 months ago and said that there was no reciprocity between CBP and ICE! Didn't expect that......

Yeah because CBP and ICE are two different agencies. If you applied for HSI and ERO which are both under ICE then they could probably "sim sim salabim" a poly reciprocity.

sory_ann, until the background investigation process is absorbed from OPM into DISA/DoD, there will be no reciprocity. Word on the street with some kats on the intel side is that the reciprocity may be a thing then.

I know the last 14 years in the Military Reserves, none of my Sailors/Friends that work other Alphabet Agencies were offered reciprocity. The worse case scenario is when your adjudication timelines are off-sync. Had a Sailor with a TS/SCI for both Navy and some Alphabet group, but they were offset. So every 2 years, they were redoing another eQUIP application and doing the rounds and poly. :\

Hey ann, thats great youre in the ICE process. If I were you, I would take that than CBPO by a mile.
To answer your question, the only reciprocity or really /"consequence" is if you fail one or the either's polygraph test. However, passing results do not transcend over.

It seem random when they call and they do leave a voice mail too. My app is originally 18-12 and reapplied to 19-6 for LAX

    • Okay just scheduled the exam!!!!! Quick question, I have a medical condition that made my left leg a bit weaker than my right. However, I can function perfectly normal (barring that during training I am not paired up with Hulk or Batman), will this be a major issue during my medical exam? Also, for the exam do I need to be in business attire?

      Thanks everyone

itwasjustifi3d For your medical exam it sounds like once you disclose it and after your exam they will require additional paperwork. Its a pain and the turn around time is random. My additional paperwork was 2 business days, while others on here was 2 to 8 months. Just get it done quick and have patience. When the doctor completes the paperwork read it over BEFORE submitting it. Doing it quickly the first time allows you to get a second opinion if the first doctor writes something unfavorable. There is nothing wrong with getting a second opinion too. Good luck, I hope you get zero additional paperwork it can be a nightmare.

Okay thanks on the written exam!

For medical I know when I was with orthopedics they basically wrote down that I can pretty much do anything (and again as long as I don't fight Hulk Hogan or the Rock I should be good). But thanks for the advice. In case I make it that far I'll have my doc get the documents ready for me as well.

Last PSI completed late 2015. Current DoD standards are pushed to 6 years instead of 5 so I should be good till end of 2020 or 2021, I'm also on the CE program where they do auto credit/agency checks regularly in between reinvestigations. Either way I got the poly waiver 6 months ago and been waiting on Drug and BI since.

I wouldn't worry too much then Dodge_Guy19-4, even if you were to need a "reinvestigation," those are quick, especially for those in Continuous Eval. I saw a guy recently get his readjudicated the following day after submitting his EQIP while being in CE.

I got my si next week, and my fitness test after that... Then just the poly and drug test remaining...
Im not worried about my background, i recently had one done for the bop, so i know the investigators will just touch base and piggy back.....

I applied under the 19-12 vra gs-9 announcement. Just applied on Monday so I havent even been referred for the job yet. I applied under 17-10 but failed the poly. I need to wait until the end of Feb to take the poly again anyways, but maybe by then congress will pass the waiver for vets and cops

      • Good morning from Scottsdale, AZ

Question: does anyone know the work schedule or hours for CBPO’s that work at places like Lukeville, AZ? The location is so out there and there is no personal housing for hours away. Do they work like 48 hours then go home for 4 days? Any info is appreciated.

I am no expert on Lukeville.

No port I'm aware of works anything like a 48 hour shift. If lucky, maybe a 12 hour shift might be an option.

There is, or was, some government housing available in Ajo.

Probably the best advice is to hop into a vehicle and take a drive to Lukeville for your own experience. With luck, someone there can answer your questions.

I am in the same boat with you. I am a GS-9 applicant and all I have left is the Poly, drug test and Medical exam. I am in no rush. I had a TS clearance for 10 years but it expired in 2002. Good luck.

          Royalty9290,

I am with you. I just took another job with another agency today. I start in a few weeks. I may have to stop the process with the CBP.

      • I was asked for some additional medical information for a history of anxiety. They prefer the documents to be signed by a psychiatrist or psychologist but can I just see my regular provider about this? I have never seen a specialist for this and only dealt with anxiety for about 4 months.

I had to take a psych test. shop around for a private psychologist depending on what state you are in i know one that would do it for fair price. she only charged me 300.00. 150 up front and 150 after she gets the results

      • well 18-10 here. I am starting to become discouraged. My journey has been a bit of a long one. I took my test in the end of JULY of 2018. Being a VRA applicant i applied for Houston and MC Allen Texas. I really want Houston, but is willingly to take a SWB port. in August, I did my fitness test with ease and exceeded expectations just for fun. In September, i did my SI and that same week i did my medical. I did screw up on the paperwork in the beginning, which required more documentation but that was after the government shutdown of 2018. Medical finally got back to me in February about additional pshcy testing. I self verify that it was a mistake. I was able to find a psychologist to do the Psych testing for $300, when others was saying 1500 to 3000 dollars. CBP accepted the documentation in March and i didn't get a clear until mid June of 2019. So here i am waiting, watching this forum sometimes everyday, sometimes once a week just to see every people get at least their POLY or EOD dates and i still haven't gotten one.One would think they would continue with the applicants that applied first instead of skipping them, but i guess that just my way of thinking. Im not mad at anyone just a bit discouraged because im ready to start or ready to fail the Polygraph. I think its just the waiting is starting to get to me. A co-worker of mines got his notification for February for an EOD in September 2019 . He passed the polygraph in 2018 of September. But he got lucky and there was an opening for an appointment in san antonio so he drove there to take the poly and passed. So i figure with some people timelines i estimate i wont take the poly until February of next year drug test maybe in may of 2020. Then if im lucky get an EOD date by mid summer probably in August or September for an EOD date of 2021.

I feel you man, this process got me too. I applied in May 2018, Whue Yhue , got 50% done by August 2018. I had no medical, no Eqip issues. Still had to wait all the way till July 31 2019 to take poly- About 50 weeks. just hang in there man, we all know this process is time consuming... I go on here frequently to kill my time, gain my knowledge, get to know people, otherwise, go to the gym, train for academy..... Good luck to you man

Fog682 I applied in November 2018, right at the polygraph stage you had me beat by a month because I had to retest for the poly. My background has was submitted in early September. Your investigator was really fast to meeting with you and submitting it.

Silva23, I had this same delimma.... I did a mad dash research on cost of living, state/federal taxes, travel costs (I'm still a Reservist responsible for my own travel monthly), and then quality of life at locations.

Take that information and then create a list of the top 10, then cut them down further. Good luck!
