Chances are your BI doesn't work for CBP or even DHS. They're usually a third party contractor. Yes, they may come to your residence. Mine came to my apartment once on short notice when we couldn't go anywhere public.

xknuckles, Mine came and spoke with several neighbors over a day or two. Thankfully I was out on military orders for the week. But my neighbors let me know he came by. He also went to my work and visited my references at a local PD.

      • Got the call today. 19-8 GS-9 VRA.

        FLETC Jan 8 - May 13.

Got offered the usual SWB stuff and the usual big city ports that are always available. I petitioned for Houston or anywhere in Florida. Said 1-2 business days for a response.

Talonderiel I figured Tampa was like that. Lower cost of living, smaller POE - the perfect final port before retiring. Makes sense. I pondered Miami, but I’m not keen on renting property and trying to buy there is such a pain.

showtime15 , I hear ya' ... Though the Port of Tampa is growing in commerce and trying to establish a few niche cruise line settings (due to limitations with the air-height limitations of the Skyway Bridge... can you tell what my Master's study is in right now :P ).

I can see all of the FL POEs continuing to grow in demand. Jacksonville is actually the one that is setup to blow up as the next major metropolitan destination with Airport and Seaport operations.

      • Any CBP applicants that were offered a position within the El Paso Sector? I heard CBPO get to stay within city limits of where they live vs BPA that have to relocate 100 miles or more from where they live.

I have read a few posts where they were offered El Paso within the last month or two. A lot of people say its really hard to get El Paso because I guess you never know until you get that call! Crossing my fingers I get that option!!

I was offered santa teresa which is close to el paso and within 100 miles of my house, the 100 mile rule is only for border patrol which i also applied for and was offered deming NM which is about 110 miles of my home. I wasn’t offered el paso because it wasn’t available at the time but if it was there is no issue if you already live here

Yes, going to be a real long waiting game. Just hit 38% on Tuesday with med, SI, and physical fitness done. I submitted my eqip 4 days after my offer on may 16th not sure what the hold up is though. Hoping it doesnt effect my poly scheduling.

        • I received a phone call today for the first time by my background investigator. Meeting her next week to go over some things in my e-qip. Passed my poly 7/16/19 re certified e-qip 7/31/19. 19-2 announcement

Same here. Im hoping I get something close to home. Just purchased a home, my wife works on a contract with a school district and my daughter has a medical condition that requires her to see her doctor every 3 weeks. So hopefully they can offer me something within the city of El Paso or closer to.

the date to EOD is what they gave me, If you notice, most of the people getting their call are being schedule this far out already November, December . I believe Boston is available, dont think Anything in FL/ Miami is unless you are VRA and ask. I didnt hear the whole list as I asked for my port before she continued, the typical southern Border and JFK definitely are available and I asked for Newark, NJ and got it.
