My application still has that red error saying “follow up needed” however, they emailed me 2 days after they received it, stating that they got my documents and it’s waiting review by a nurse! My god how long does this take?

November11th I hear you, on the annoying part 100%. Never had a hearing issue in my life and I have to go pay out of pocket for an audiologist(probably run 300 bucks since its a specialist). Especially when I know nothing is wrong. Then I have to submit and join the medical wait club. I am 19-7 and jfk too. Keep me updated I am curious how everything goes for you since I am close to you timeline wise.
-
November11th oh ok, man i feel bad that you have to go through med review, i dont wanna put a bad light on it but med review usually takes really long, weeks to even months sometimes, its ridiculous. I hope they get to yours soon.
-
I'm JFK too 19-6 19-7. My medical for my vision follow up cleared asap thankfully. I can agree with you November11th the facility in newark for the medical wasn't the best.
-
I called to ask a question related to the medical follow-up forms. They stated they were "ONLY" 1 week behind.

After the phone call is made, Negotiating the “Preferred Location”, if your first or 2 options are not available, you need to “ACCEPT” other location that you don’t want? Did you have the option to be “Stand by” until your preferred location becomes available?
Thanks

Hi Talonderiel , did you re-apply for the GS9 position? Or did you request them to consider the GS9 level?
-
duocbpo, I had to reapply to a GS-9 announcement. Only 5 and 7 are on the same announcement. 9s are separated.
-
Hi Talonderiel, thank you. When you re-apply, do you need to re-take the entrance exam? Also, will all your application documents or already finished steps/exams be automatically moved to the GS9 application? I mean like SI, Medical exam, poly exam...those results should be moved to your new application, right?
For GS9, what’re the requirements? Thank you!
-
obek-kobe17, all your steps will carry over. They might take a couple days as they send a new email to each of the departments, then the department verifies you have done that step already.
Gs-9 requirements are listed in the job announcement for Gs-9. I believe its detailed experience, a masters degree or combination of experience and graduate education.

anybody know of another number for TSU....they emailed me someone elses job offer letter...i've left messeges...and called numerous times

-
they've called me from (952) 857-2900 .... they take a bit to answer phone calls or emails. Took them a week to answer my call and email about the gs-9 announcement process after finishing the gs-7.
-
the letter was made out to a male candidate going to Presidio TX....similar EOD date and academy date...i was blown away
-
@Tolonderiel i'll try that alternate number thank you

I don't know how much you guys and say about the polygraph, but is it really 4-6 hours? Seems like a long time to be hooked up in a chair. Also, any advice beyond "just be honest"?
Comment
-
Yea it took me a little over 4 hours..The only advice I can give you is let your body act naturally and don’t try to “beat” the test
-
TheArcher the length of the polygraph really varies on you and the examiner. I say you because you have to really follow the directions that are given and how you are answering and showing on the machine. For mine everything was already set up when I arrived.
My first poly was about 3 hours received a verbal pass. A week later received an email that I had to retest. The second time it was only 1 1/2 hour 3 days later got the green check mark on my CASS.
My advise get plenty of sleep, eat a good breakfast, and most importantly follow the directions that they give you.
-
Yeah sounds fairly unnerving. I don't have anything to lie about, it's just unnerving because you always here those stories of being cut anyways even if you don't lie. I'm a long ways out from the polygraph anyways, guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
-
Back in 2013, I was there for 6+hrs for the first & second poly.
2hrs for the third one which was fail/inconclusive...

Got this from a recruiter, do you guys think I will be getting an email soon about my BI?You do not have permission to view this gallery.

raudy06 i met with the investigator twice in march so i been waiting for like 20 weeks already.
-
Lapantoja11 oh ok, it wasn't clear from your original post if you had done the BI or not. For reference ( although each background is different) my Bi was done and submitted in November 27, 2018 and cleared on the first week of July. I got no email, no call that it cleared, i just kept checking on CASS.

In today's world where nearly every radical extremist
hates nearly everything and anyone associated to immigration enforcement and where every special interest group with an axe to grind is searching all over the internet for stuff to jam up CBP/ICE personnel with, I wouldn't be posting CBP emails with my name, my recruiter's name, etc. online.
No sense in placing a target on yourself and potentially your recruiter if you don't have to.
-
merlin436 you are right didnt think about it was just thinking on the feedback from you guys . I have change the picture.

Talonderiel I hope they have any vacancies in any part of FLORIDA lol. I really don't want another relocation. I came from Washington DC a year ago, so definitely another relocation isn't in Plans. I'm in the Jacksonville Area.

obek-kobe17, I hear ya there! Jacksonville would be a nice area to live and her ports are growing rapidly too.

Morning all, this may be a silly question, but I received my entrance exam passing notice email a few days ago but I do not see what % I scored. I seen others posting their passing scores. How or where can I see this information?

A few people who took it recently on the forums were saying they did not see scores anymore. I took mine in May I believe and I saw mine.
-
I am 19-9 and my email said i passed, but it also didn’t give a score.
-
Back then, your TSL was based on your entrance exam score. Now as long as you get a 70, you COULD be referred.

Most important thing I can recommend is to use common sense and sound confident in your response and maintain eye contact. It’s fine to be nervous, but just take a deep breath and you’ll be fine.

"You need to demonstrate that you possess the abilities and other characteristics important to Customs and Border Protection Officer positions. Among these are the competencies of Judgment and Decision-making, Interpersonal Skills, Emotional Maturity, Cooperativeness/Sensitivity to the Needs of Others, Teamwork, Flexibility, and Oral Communication."
Include those adjectives in your responses and ensure officer safety, human safety and team work are the utmost important in your responses.Last edited by PA_Ed; 07-25-2019, 09:27 PM.

@MattCBP
I don't know if the email that gets sent out is the same as when I took it a few years ago, but the address I was given was wrong and not accessible. My interview was on site at CVG. I had to get a gate pass from the Delta ticket counter, go through TSA checkpoint and enter the CBP area in one of the concourses. So plan accordingly if that's still the case. I was late, but they were understanding as they knew the instructions in the email weren't clear on all of this.
