    • Well I’m fairly confident having held a TS in the military and my sheriffs office background my BI will be just fine. It’s the same agency investigating my background as my TS.

You'd think with an adjudicated clearance that they would speed along the BI for us Vets lol .... At least I'm hoping as mine just got adjudicated in March 2018. So not much has changed. But we shall see! :P

    • SI went fairly quick today. Officer hinted that if the interview goes quickly, it’s usually a good sign. Told me a 6 month wait for polygraph

That's fairly accurate of a wait time unless you apply to BPA too. Welcome to the hurry up and wait game. :P

    • Just had my poly today. Was about 3.5 hours total. I actually really like this polygraph compared to the local LEO ones that I've done (and am about to do again in a week). It was fairly straight forward and the Polygrapher was awesome! He was a little soft spoken, but I can deal with that :P

I was told that he didn't see any issues with it but the final answer always lays with QC. Dude had an awesome background story as an Army Vet.

David1984, yes I am a veteran and signed a provisional clear.... I also applied for BPA and MIA, so that might have helped speed it up.

Technically, my apps are like late 15s or early 16s. But in had a 3 year recall and started the process again in October of 2018.

    • David1984

I just got a polygraph date today. Scheduled for later this month. EQIP was released to OPR last week. I am 19-4 BPA DH though.

      SI scheduled for 4/24/19
      POLY scheduled for 4/30/19

      • 18-1 here, i’ve been in the process a while currently at 63% in cass. I believe my BI sent my background to OPR around September 15, and i haven’t heard anything since. This means it’s been around 7 months (6 months technically because of the shutdown) since it was sent to OPR.

I just wanted to get some feedback if some of you are in similar situations and wanted to know the timeframe some of you had between OPR reviewing your background and being sent for your drug test

      • Just got back home from PFT-1, knocked it all out. During the step test, at the very last second or two my foot slipped but I held my balance just as the audio finished. Hope she didn't fail me for that.

      • These are my dates :

        12/27/2018 Applied
        1/8/2019 Entrance Exam
        2/26/2019 Structured Interview
        2/28/2019 Medical
        3/28/2019 Fitness Test

I passed everything above, the rest is in progress. I have 2 questions, I forgot what locations I have put for my preferred locations. Is there a way to find out? And are they set on it or can I change them when I am given an offer? Other question, I never received an email about passing the fitness test. Should I have gotten something?

Thank you! It does say on the application that location is negotiable so I may be wrong but what I think they do is when you completed everything they give you all the available vacancies and you pick one because I am sure they do change as time goes on, especially if you are waiting for over a year.

As for the CASS it does state that the fitness test is completed. Thanks again!

When I got the call for BP they offered me 1 town in Cali, 1 in New Mexico, and the other 6 were in Texas. Mind you the biggest town has a population of around 7,000 people. I asked if there were any other options I could choose from and he said no. I could not relocate to a town that was 100 miles or closer to where I am originally from. I guess that’s how HQ wants it.

Border Patrol has a "hundred mile rule" when hiring applicants where they require new hires to move 100 miles or more from their address of record when they applied. Supposedly, it addresses some of the corruption issues within the BP.
OFO has no such rule. That's a good thing, if you ask me. If anything, OFO needs more focused local recruitment and hiring...not less.

yes, chicago police department. i gave up on it last year when i found out i passed the interview with cbp.... didnt realize i was gn wait this long to get through the process. i reapplied with chicago pd last week.... will most likely get hired before the end of the year, maybe within 6 months of today.
i also put in with border patrol 19-7. all i gotta do is interview, fitness, poly and drug.. going in provisional. hopefully that will go faster than cbp

Best of luck - I try and check the new job listings every morning to see if something peaks my interest. I tried reading up on that fast track hiring process, have you seen that? Seems like theres a lot of requirements.
