Off the topic of hiring... What’s with CBPs rank structure? The uniforms and everything look great including the badges but the ranks make no sense. Like if you are a “Supervisor” you literally have that written on your badge... that’s so weird and demeaning... I mean CBP is considered a law Enforcment job, they should have Law Enforcment ranks. Instead of Supervisor it should be Seargant... just a thought. What do y’all think?

I am in announcement 18-9 and my whole process is been kind of slow, i applied last year in June and as today 04/11/19 my process completion is at 75% just waiting for results of the DT which i don't have any doubts about it, and i guess final offer is next, guys a recommendation i can share is be patient always communicate with each department if anything is missing or needed more info, don't just wait for emails. good luck to all of us it this process, any questions let me know.

After I submitted my original I realized I made a mistake so I reached out to my case manager and she rejected it for me. I'm assuming once it goes to OPR theres no more editing until it gets released back to you prior to BI. That being said I'll need to make some edits to mine once that happens as I'm getting married next month but I noted that in the comments of my original EQIP.

Anyone that knows the process JFK (or any other port) on how they make travel arrangements for you? I've read somewhere that they might be able to fly you back every week from home to class free. Can anyone confirm this?

That's it. Your personal travel is all on your own time and own dime.

1.Do you get house hunting leave if you are going to be working in a different state from which you currently live in.
2.Can you get federal housing if the cost of homes are not affordable with gs5 pay
3.If you have been prescribed blood pressure medication after your medical exam do you need to inform cbp... if so who.
4.If you received a disability rating after applying and leaving the military do you need to inform anyone also?
Currently completed everything in the process except drug test and BI.

1. I doubt it outside of the odd circumstance.
2. Some ports have government housing on-site. The vast majority do not and do not offer any.
3. I am unsure. I imagine at the least you would have to notify FLETC medical when you arrived at FLETC.
4. I do not know.

I can’t speak for most ports but there are some ports that will alllow you leave after graduation. Just reach out to your training sup because more than likely you’ll be waiting for a post academy class to start.
As far as being able to afford rent/mortgage, that’s on you. You may have to join a roommate or something until you’re able to afford living on your own.

Yea it wasn't great. I've had logical reasoning before but theirs just seemed tricky. Glad I passed though. I think it took me I think close to 2 hours. I found out two days later at 730 am. It was a Monday though so that's probably why I didn't get it on Sunday.

Hal29 when you got told what you were told did your background say complete in the app?

17-10 here! Got my green check for background investigation today. Took right at 2 months. Now the waiting game for the drug test!
