I took my polygraph on Feb 20 and got my passing email on the 28th.
-
NCavazos, hold on! You should be next. Technically, I applied in the 15-8 timeframes... but then did a 3 year recall that put everything on hold, so can't hold that against CBP :P
Hopefully the end of your tunnel comes soon!

Me next ?!? Uff wouldn't that be amazing lol I'm sure i still have several months to go. I already learned not to hold my breath waiting to hear anything soon. Problem is ..I ain't gettin any younger lol so its either they take me or I'm put out to pasture lol

So I was at the Tire Store yesturday morning waiting to get my tires done when a phone call came in, I didn’t recognize it so I Immediately delicned it... then I’m like, that number looks familiar “maybe it was CBP for my Polly”. Then the voice mail comes in... 19 seconds long.... getting excited cause spam calls leave 0 second ones... put the phone to my ear “Hello this message is for (My Name) from (My Bank)... we have detected fraudulent purchases and are deactivation your debit card”.... great... Still waiting

**** my poly was 4 hours of mind numbing wall watching.....blood pressure cuff cutting my blood circulation off....not being able to move while the testing is active is something else
-
MrAce, I know that feeling! I'm waiting on the Poly for 3 months now (I know, I'm still a youngin' in the wait process :P) but I normally screen calls I don't know. So this process is making every scammer call a fun process! lol

Talonderiel - DHS will never accept secret clearance for waiver. To get a secret they run a credit check and a quick background check...if that clears they give you the secret the same day. a secret clearance is really a joke. (ive held one as well)
-
Talonderiel They mustve changed it then, because if that was the case I woud've applied for the waiver since June when I submitted the equip.. I have a TS/SCI + active duty time , but when I asked for the waiver the guy told me it might take a little while but there were poly dates available and asked me what I wanted to do.. so I chose the poly because it seemed like the faster option.
I doubt they'll lower it to secret, they give those away to almost anyone...

Looking at my archived EQIP copy I made some minor mistakes such as a phone number and accidentally listing one of my main references another time in the EQIP.
My EQIP hasn't been sent to OPR yet, is it okay to e-mail the case manager and ask to edit/correct it?

That would be best thing to do. When I had to reverify I had done something similar and didnt notice untill i I released it.. They called me back and I was asked if I needed it released back to me so that I could add any information that I missed. Once you meet with your BI i believe you also can give him/her any recent changes in phone#s and things like that. This is a long process and addresses and #s can change by time you get near the end so its only fair that we get a chance to make corrects...i think anyway. ...best of luck to you.

Hey guys, long time member but seldom poster, big lurker here lol want to pick anyone’s brain who have been through maybe something similar. My medical is asking for additional information because I was epileptic as a child. Has anyone been dq’d for this? Also, credit went down a lot because I was out of work for 4 months last year and bills stopped getting paid. Has anyone gotten hired with bad credit? I am trying to fix it as we speak. Any advice would be great

Just make attempts to pay and on your equip or when you meet with the investigator explain to him why and how it happened. Most investigators are there to help you and explain things to you. I don't have perfect credit either with some debt. My wife had a list of medical needs and I had to choose where the money went. Explain to them and you should be fine. People have gone through with much worse.
-
You need to show that you are currently paying them down..if not you will be dqed for credit...if they're asking for additional info that means they want your history and you can be dqed if you do not provide that info

Gmen0587, I went through several medical reviews for injuries sustained on military deployments.... Just fill out the paperwork as fully as you can, by relevant medical professionals, and return as quickly as you can. The medical review unit will make their decisions. I'm guessing if you have been clinically cleared of epileptic symptoms for a certain amount of time, then you may be good.
As for the debt process, as long as you can show that you are making positive progress then you're golden. No one is perfect in these times, especially fiscally. The bonus of this process being as long as it is, you'll have a chance to improve your credit score before you get to the BI in 18 months! :P
-
You'll probably need agreements between you and the creditors to provideto your Bi

Evolution81Hal29 Thanks guys. Hopefully I get past all of this. This is my 2nd time being chosen so I’m really praying for this one lol

Been in the running now for about 18months now was heading down the stretch, but I think I ran into a stumbling block with my Polygraph the other day

gmen0587 I'm in North Bergen, and i'm at 63%, announcement 18-3 for JFK (IF Newark is available might pick that since its closer to home) , waiting for final BI adjudication since November 27, 2018. I started the process in December 2017.

Hi... I'm so disappointed. Almost 2 yrs in the process and I got an email today saying that I was disqualified because of my thyroid disease??? How's that possible? How can my thyroid which was removed disqualified me? I need some light to understand.

did they ask for additional info?
-
Srhernza115 I was in the process. They asked for additional paperwork back in Oct. and everything was provided including the OK from my Dr. since thyroid is not an impediment or anything like it. 5 months after receiving paperwork they said I don't qualify cause my thyroid disease will affect the safe and performance of task. HOW??? All my CBP's friends and family members are telling me that it doesn't make any sense.
-
merlin436 you're wrong. My doctor clearly stated that thyroid it's not a problem, never will be and that I don't need any accommodations cause thyroid disease it's not an impediment. Even the port director said that is nonsense and ridiculous.

Hey All
Hope someone can help me here. I applied for the GS7 1 month ago and I am currently in the process. I also applied to the GS-9 about 3 weeks ago and was accepted. My question is since I completed some of the process for the GS-7 (Fitness, SI, Medical) can this be transferred over to the GS-9?
Also if I was to pass every part of the process and get offered a position can I negotiate a higher salary?
Thanks in advance

Depending on your airport needs for TSA, could be quick or slow. Just like CBP, some get in quick, some wait a long time.

Whats up man - fellow 19-4 here. Although you're moving slower its better than not moving at all. I'm very thankful I've never had any serious medical issues aside from broken bones and stitches throughout my life. My medical went through right away, I've read countless horror stories on here.
Not a bad idea on applying to other jobs so far I've applied for CBPO, US Capitol Police, Mission Support Specialist, Operation Safety Investigator, and Tax Specialist. I just applied for the last four recently so no movement yet.
-
Hal29 I'm just saying that because it took a month just to be selected and also I'm just comparing to other 19-4's
Talonderiel thanks! I hope so.
Srhernza115 I should be ok. I mean the issue is fixed so we'll see. Won't be surprised if I need to submit more paperwork
TheSlammer yea Boston seems to be needing a lot which is great
corsair well you're bound to land something!! Good luck!

Ok I have a question and yes I've researched it but still would like to hear from y'all. In regards to PT at FLETC ....how physically demanding is it? I've been doing my runs and trying to increase my upper body strength but still curious as to what you've heard. Being an "older" (as apposed to some of you 20 and yearly 30 yr olds) female I worry about keeping up with the guys : \

Make sure you run outdoors too. I did all my training on a treadmill and could very easily run 1.5 miles under 14 mins, but now that I started running outdoors it is MUCH harder.
-
Thanks for the replies. Well I've slacked off on my running time for the 1 1/2. I ran it this week at 14.28 but at my best times its been under 13. My upper body needs more strengthening though. As for the training guide that Crake posted , I can do that no problem so I guess its just working on adding more reps.
Thanks again guys for the feedback. Yall think of anything else let me know.
-
I agree with Anthony_525 about running outside. Its harder and I definitely need to do more outdoors running. Im doing 9 min miles outside on a good day. I tend to just time a completed mile outside and not my 1.5 mile. I guess i need start timing outside now.
