I was wondering the same thing at nogales.

I can't say with 100% certainty but large ports like Dulles and Nogales typically have decent sized overtime budgets. Nothing obscene like the usual SYS budgeting...but far over the average for ports.

Awesome I’m hoping there is opportunities to get overtime frequently is why I was asking.

I would say anything in Arizona will have overtime, they were pushing hard for me to go there.

      • I have my medical next week, what should I expect when I go?

With the added detail of an extensive vision and hearing testing.

It's a physical exam in addition to vision and hearing tests.

N.N. you're lucky you passed medical so quick. I turned in my extra paperwork 9 months ago and it's still "in line for nurse's review". I'm actually writing a letter to my representative to open a formal inquiry into the hiring process. I'm a VRA applicant and it's absolutely ridiculous to have us wait so long willing to work for the government.

        • So I'm kind of nervous now. I've been reading that some people are getting phone calls for their Poly instead of an email. I changed my phone number a few months ago and I'm beginning to wonder if that is why I haven't heard anything. It's been 6 months since SI.

Contact your case manager and inform them of the number change. Should of done that right away. Polygraph is always done by phone and then a follow up email.

I called and there were no options to press for my specific situation. It also did not give me any option to speak to a live person, it just hung up on me. I'm sorry if its been answered before but I really need someones help in regards to how to contact them.

My poly was by email but it came three days after contacting them to update my job & home address.

        • Any particular number they call for the Poly? I get so many spam calls a day I’m nervous I’ll miss it.

Nope, whatever’s comfortable. They’re contracted Doctors and nurses, they are not even affiliated with CBP.

        • Elgin_87 I applied sept 2017 so I’m right there with you at 50% pending at the poly. I put it on active duty hold for 6 months but I’ll be waiting to hear something...

I have got to the point where I'm patiently waiting again. The slow process is deterring me from applying to an "moving" promotion with my current agency. In the long run CBP will be a better career advancement. I guess I have no other choice but to be at peace with it. In my opinion though, I think the POLY should be the 1st thing you do in the hiring process. It would save the Government money and applicants time. Krash777

        • So I know I’m probably beating a dead horse at this point, but I’m just getting a tad worried. How long after the due date for submitting additional medical information does it take to clear medical? I’m seeing a lot of different clear times. VRA seems to be the slowest to clear.

Also how long after that does it take to get a poly date?

vra is slowest because of all the various ratings the VA gives vets....if you have disability rating you automatically go into review status...you have to hump around and find all your va paperwork/get doctors to clear you etc

        • douglasgene1 haha I know! just didn’t want to screw myself.

          • Luckyjack90 there is no set time! Some get answers in a week, some six months. For me, It usually took 2 months per request. They would review my records and want something else. After your medical clears, you just sit on your damn hands for the polygraph. If you read through the thread, some wait months and months and some get luckier. I promise you that VRA gets you no extra traction. The “expedited” hiring comes from getting to skip the the testing and use your PT and medical physical from the military. After that, you’re in the same boat as everyone else.
