And thanks for the advice! I guess keep trying is the best thing to do!
Yeah, none of the days were blacked out, so I chose my usually day off and full availability. I still haven't received any news it was scheduled. I'm just confused by the system. I thought when I selected that availability it would automatically schedule me a time within that window I offered. The other agency I applied with I got a phone call with a person, who then said we have these days available, and then after I selected a day was told what times available.

Keep up with the effort! Hope you have been doing your exercises! I have!

You are better off calling to schedule much faster and you get an actual confirmation. Friend of mine had same issue he needed to call to get an appointment because no one confirmed appt. with him said they are backed up a bit.

You were absolutely correct. Took my entire lunch break but at least on the phone it got done. I'm not sure if I was just unlucky with the computer system or what, but it was not getting scheduled. The person I spoke to was able to get me in on the days I requested through the computer system, and got it locked in.

  • Does anybody have the phone number for the Hiring Center?

I know it's not a phone number, but if you look at the "Contact Us" section on the app, there's a list email addresses to use for each specific part in the process. I've found this to be a very useful/responsive means of getting info this far.

I have the exact same results as you man. I’m 17-10 and just waiting for the BI to contact me.

  • In regards to the medical, it asks if we have ever had a surgery before. I had a surgery when I was 12 to fix a fracture in my arm when I fell off my bike. I have no issues with it and played sports afterwards throughout high school. I lift weights and play hockey. I am just curious if they are going to want documentation of that? I wouldn't even know where to get that information as it is over 13 years old.

Based on stuff they asked me, they may ask for it. I had one issue that doctor told me records were only kept for 10 years, so there are none available. In that case, I would have your personal physician write a statement that it's healed and that you are cleared/OK for physical exertion required for the job. But no need to get this now. They will send you separate medical forms for each issue they need more info on. If that's one of them, then you will know what ya need to do.

They are definitely going to ask for documentation.I broke my wrist and they asked for additional information after the doctor cleared me.

RJ, I finally emailed asking about Med Clearance and they emailed me the same day to schedule SI.

SI went well. I got NOR the next day that I passed. I still have no change in my medical yet. Still pending their.

  • I was on the CBP website and started following some links and got a bit confused.

Is retirement mandatory at 57 and your pension is 1.7% x 20 then add 1% per year for every year after? So a 25 year career would be 1.7% x 20 plus 1% x 5 which would be a 39% pension?

Because I got onto a webpage that was talking about something where they had 2.5% multiplier instead of 1.7% which would make a 50% pension at 20 years. But reading through this thread now I'm a bit confused...

Any issues with eyes and if they offer eye waivers as long as you wear contacts?

Your 1.7/39% figures are correct for new hires.

The 2.5/50% looks to be CSRS retirement...which was phased out for future hires around 1983.

As far as your eyes go you'll need to pass the pre-employment examination without contacts or glasses. If you can't do that...look into LASIK or other corrective surgery. Virtually zero vision waivers are approved.

Just got finished hour ago. I passed! Push Ups, and Sit Ups were meant for grammar school kids. I had like 40 secs left on each after both of them. Step test gave me little problem due to hunger. I was scheduled at 1 PM, got there around 12:15 pm only had light breakfast. Got called in at 2:15 or so went through all the instructions and what not. I was out by 2:30. I was starving by the time of the test.Step test was easy just concentrate on up up down down and you will forget about everything else and you will be done in no time.

Best of Luck N.N. you will be fine. Just eat something little before the test so you wont be hungry. This was my experience I hope it helps.

@ N.N. Thank you very much. Trust me you will be fine. I was nervous until they called me. I was confident about the Push Ups and Sits Ups but was nervous about the Step Test. My examiner was cool she like if you reach 20 sits ups stop, 12 push up stop. She was like did you practice for this part I was like yeah, she said do not worry you will be fine. You got this just practice it and you will be just fine.

Ps: After the SI the waiting game gets worse.

    • Ahhhhh, I am going crazy! I haven't waited as much as other people, but I lack patience the most important thing for this process LOL

For AGRICULTURE SPECIALIST I passed my Video Based Interview 8 days ago, and I can't wait to hear something from a Background Investigator

For CBPO I passed my interview back in March and its going to be 1 month of waiting for the poly D:

Anyway, just venting... how is everyone doing in this waiting game?

Basically no, however for Agriculture Specialist you need a Biology major or at least some science college credits, you do not carry a weapon, you don't process people, you don't have a tazer...

There you go... for CBPO you are an officer for Agriculture Specialist you are a Specialist.... same pay though but CBPO has a better retirement system and of course more levels to be promoted.. for AGS you can only reach all the way to GS12 and then maybe become a supervisor or chief

@ LunaBaloo for CBPAS you do get to carry a weapon. I do not know about processing people or not.
And far as Poly "You may or may not be required to take a standardized polygraph exam as part of your Agriculture Specialist application"

CBP Aggies are unarmed. Some, I believe, carry batons.

As far as the poly and the Ag. Specialist go, CBP wants to poly them and has even gone so far as to get OPM approval to initiate a pre-employment poly for Aggies. They just haven't got the poly up and running as far as Aggies go.

    • If you have been waiting for your medical to clear for sometime now, is there a good chance they will be requesting for more info or have people waited a long time and actually ended up getting a passed result in the end

Probably expect additional info request. I took medical in December and was waiting until last month before they asked for more info. I was worried because I have seen others have medical clear within a week or 2.

    • I passed everything included Drug test THEN got a call I can to redo medical due to in being expired now. So that is cleared now which means everything on my app is Green and its been that way for about 3 weeks. I see others who get the "scheduling" email right away after everything goes green. Anyone have to wait this long before getting it?

Jones415 it just shows “Suitable” on the app. No e-mail or anything.

JAK060813 I would send an email asking asking what the status of your application is. Maybe to the TSU email?

I emailed my BI case manager a couple times but they won’t tell you anything. Just the same copy and pasted response that your background has been submitted to OPR. Just have to wait it out. Mine turned green after about 3 months.

Yeah so after the SI be prepared for a very lengthy wait until your poly and BI. I remember when I first applied and was reading a lot of posts on here about forgetting you ever applied. They were right.

      • By the way, I’ve been looking at this forum for a while. It took a while to get approved. I’m 18-1 and 18-3. Had my SI late March and passed. Cleared medically a week after my SI. I’m at 50% now and waiting for Poly, Drug and BI.
