CBP class 411 go to the academy next week. 412 go to the academy the first week of November so if anyone is in the process now and pass everything you will most likely be in the next class 413.Last edited by zFinest; 10-20-2016, 10:41 PM.With honor and integrity, we will safeguard the American people, our homeland, and our values.

So what are the chances of getting a overseas spot after working for CBP for a few years. I am seeing spots all over the world and wonder if overseas is a popular assignment people go for.
Seeing a lot of Container Security jobs. I am taking a guess and you are just doing a ton of searches on containers. Sounds like fun to me.Last edited by fathitman; 10-21-2016, 02:42 AM.

EDIT: The 12s overseas are hard to come by. Someone in my building just left for the Netherlands though, so that is pretty sweet. They opened a bunch of GS12s overseas recently though. That is one thing I wish BP had more of, and one of the few things I am jelly of Customs. Definitely a cool experience.Last edited by battlewagon; 10-26-2016, 03:33 PM.UNITED STATES BORDER PATROL

A few quick questions for those in the know.
Is it true they got rid of the stupid video test?
I see they lifted the age requirements a bit but I can't work in these middle of nowhere places.( I don't mind, but the wife and newborn aren't having it). Any chance the next posting might be for something more metropolitan like PHL? Any word on how long the age lift might last for?
If not, realistically speaking how long/hard is it to eventually transfer to PHL/JFK/LGA/EWR?NYPD Exam 1313

Movement is possible. It's probably easier to transfer/relocate now than it has ever been. Still, if you're for a particular port or handful of ports you're probably better off waiting, especially if the family isn't behind a move to the hinterland. It used to be that somewhere in the 3-5 year range to relocate was usually a realistic number. For many, especially for those filling these most recent grouping of less desirable ports, I'd bet that figure still holds true for them. As to when ports like Philadelphia will open up...probably not long after they fill most of the current offerings and any other priority placements that may be awaiting in the queue.
Announcements are supposed to open on the first of each month...at least as of now. Check monthly to see what options might change.Last edited by merlin436; 10-27-2016, 07:50 PM.

I had a quick question for anyone that can help.
I passed my SI on August 23th. August 29th I got an email from the Personal security specialist to send in my signed MEL release form. I did that the same day. Now it's been 2 months and I haven't heard anything from them. My Cass says my paperwork is at the security office...
Anyone know what could the holdup be?
Can anyone give me a number I can call for any information regarding my application status?
Thanks in advance

Its been over a month since I did my medical and nothing has updated. I wouldn't worry ab out it if you already did the medical testing. If they didn't schedule your stuff I would start to worry.
