Sit tight. It's going to be a minute.
I'm a 15-1 EWR and I'm about to hit my 1 1/2 year marker. Name of the game is patience.

I heard a class is coming from academy in mid Marc. That should give us some hope!

Hey, I'm currently at JFK and used to be border patrol and I miss it everyday. I wish I never made the jump. This is a great job for pay you can work an extra 35-45k in ot every year if you want it, as safe as you can be in a Leo position, and very secure job almost impossible to lose your job once you make probation. There is nothing high speed, very minimal arrests made here, majority of officers have never made an arrest, and seniority reigns supreme. It takes 5+ years to get on any specialized teams. You will be in a booth stamping passports sometimes 14 hours a day especially in the summer and get drafted on days off especially your first two years even if you volunteer for ot. I'm not trying to bash the agency these are just some things I wish I knew before I made the jump. You are federal law enforcement but just in an administrative compliance role. Very very different than local. Best of luck in the process.

Seems like a lot of people picked San Ysidro for that same reason. More high-speed, and it's a port where more arrests are made compared to others.

What is going on bro! I had my background info sent back to me twice to fix some information. But I still don't have a polygraph scheduled. My Cass shows everything cleared besides background and drug test. How are you doing so far??? I am 16-1 Miami by the way.

Hopefully I'll like it, personally I'd like something more high speed and more hands on as far as making arrests and/or seizures. At the very least, if I get on it'll get my foot in the door with Feds. It would be nice if my state LEO time carried over too. One thing at a time though.

I'm a 15-4 applicant. And I'm in the same position as you are. I have had my eqip rejection three times for mislabeled information. So, I'm waiting for it to me approved. Hopefully soon.

                  • Anyone know how long the poly is good for? Having issues with MHC, they are saying since I haven't been sent to SU unit I now have to retake it because it is expired. I told them I was told I didn't have to re-do it as it should roll over from my previous app. Been waiting on Newark and the background to clear on CASS. Been like that since Nov.
All checks: Summer 2014 (No PFT2 or referral to SU yet at the point)
14-2 posted: See SE, re-apply. Take test. Wait for stuff to roll over.
Jan: Find out no more SE hiring despite **many vacancies** listed. Had to choose new region.
                    Provisional Clearance: June 4th
                    Still waiting

Lol I'm 16-1 for Miami. I had my e-qip also sent back twice to fix two things. Also waiting on poly to be scheduled. We are at the exact same place in our process. Where are you located ?

Poly is good for 3 years.

Wow. I guess I might have to then. I can't believe they wouldn't move it along or give me a check mark. I took it 2013 February. I applied for Newark last year around this time. Great, just great.

                            Feb 2013? You're not a CBP yet?

                            • No. Was almost done in 2014, not sent to SU, and saw SE opened up. Applied for it expecting an easy roll over of my stuff. Waiting something like Aug-Feb 2014 before they sent me a change your region option (as there were no slots for SE, even though it said many openings). Changed region, and had no luck since.

                              • So, this may come as a shock but I have been following this forum, page for page, since October but never posted or joined up. I have since joined and have a bunch to say.
I am 16-1 for Miami, had my e-qip sent back 3 times at least, have had 3 months of medical holds (satisfied month by month, unique issue by unique issue) and now I have my Poly in Dania Beach on Wednesday. I am psycho nervous just because of the gravity of the exam. I will be the first to publicly admit I stole a petty amount (less than 100) from my hotel clerk bank tin at my job ten years ago and will confess to as much at the start of the pre-exam.

Other than that I haven't done drugs, no murders, and no divulging secrets. I will be so honest with this examiner I hope to scare her. So, any advice?

P.S. The security specialist that sent me my notice to reject me based on credit issues was very nice. She emailed me (this is the In security office stage) and allowed me to describe what happened and that I would make 1st month's payments and show proof. I always thought they rejected you outright with no chance to remedy things based off people's experiences here.

P.S.S. I am prior Navy, Submarine E-4 Machinist's Mate, with secret clearance. Clear driving record, all up to par on credit payments, every family member is legal. So....let's see.
