      • Have my VBT and SI scheduled for tomorrow. Hope it goes well! After that I have to redo the medical and fitness test.

Thank you. My husband just failed his even though he had passed 2 polygraphs before. He had to retake it because it expired while waiting for his BI to clear.

            • Has anyone with a family (wife/husband and kid/kids) accepted a position and had to relocate following the academy to your duty location? Or anyone in the process now that will be doing so?

I will probably be doing that. Leaving the family behind while I do my thing for that first year and the figuring things out. It will be a day to day thing.

                Anyone else?

Yes. I have 2 kids and husband. I have to move with my kids to my duty location without my husband for a year or more. But it is ok. We both know it is the best desicion for all of us. My dream will come true. Little sacrifice will pay off.

                      Exactly!

I will leave the kids behind because my oldest is going into high school this year and I just refuse to move her at this age.

I'm practically in the same boat, but I'm the husband and our kids are rather young. I take it you'll have talked it over already. Where is your duty location and where are you relocating from? You can PM me if you'd like.

That is what I'm figuring I will have to do, given the time periods between pre-academy and post academy. Doesn't seem like there's much time to relocate a family until after you're on the job for about a year.
