I think I let my frustrations and emotions get the best of me. I am not going to let the incompetence of some people ruin what I've been waiting so long for. Luckily, I had a nice lady at mhc allow me to resubmit my stuff back to her and she instantly sent it to internal affairs after first rejecting it a second time. I hope the incompotence of my case manager didnt set me back to far as I know I missed the calls at the end of Dec for poly. I won't let this process, as frustrating as it has been, defeat me. I will for sure be seeing you in fl one day soon!

My investigator was a great guy and has been super helpful throughout the entire process. I talked to him today and he said that his "report" was sent to DC (I live in Buffalo) about a month ago and a half ago and he hasn't heard back from them since. I'm just curious if you guys have a rough idea as to how long it takes to make a decision?

All that's left for me to complete is this background investigation, a drug test, and the PFT2. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't antsy about it.
I too would like to know this. My BI finished talking to my last referral and submitted his report last week. He told me it would take about a month and maybe expect to hear something mid Feb. Although, as always in this process, those estimated times can vary quite a bit....

i have taken 3 poly's so far in life.
don't let your mind wander while taking the test. completely focus on what the administrator is asking. i know that if you start to think about other things after answering yes or no to question, that will cause some false readings which can cause you to be a no-go.

other than that, if you are totally truthful and disclose EVERYTHING before hand (don't wait to disclose something new when you get to the poly officer) you will have no problem.

dkman is right, EVERYONE is nervous. don't move, stare at a spot on the wall, keep focused, and tell the truth. any good poly officer knows you are nervous and knows what to look for on their computer screen regarding nerves.

The first poly I had I was super nervous. I was actually focusing way too much on how my body was reacting (I was thinking about how I was breathing, did it look like I was falling asleep, was my heart racing too much). When you focus so much attention to things like, if your heart is beating too fast, guess what will happen next? Your heart will start beating faster. So focus on the questions and be honest. Don't worry about what you think the machine might be saying and just get through the day.

Went through my second poly with those things in mind, focused on the questions and answered truthfully, and passed it relatively painlessly. If you're not a terrorist or drug lord, you should be fine.

I agree with you 100%. Came too far to back down now. Besides waiting, the poly is the last hardest part and I'm sure soon you'll hear from them then it's home stretch there.
