My best advise is to forget you applied and expect to do something every month or two till you get completed with it all!! PM me if anyone needs some advise on your process and I'll do my best to help. Thanks to all who helped me.Announcement 13-1

MikeUSCG I'm a US Army Reserves SSG on Active Duty orders (mobilized) in Charleston, SC until Sept 2015. I noticed you were deployed. Can you tell me for how long and what actions were taken during your CBPO employment process? I'm trying to get my timing right so hopefully I get the call by the time I get off orders. I know it's a long process and the reason I've applied is because one of my Soldiers whom applied 2 years ago recently got off orders to go throught the CBPO Academy.
I'm also concerned if being deployed in another contingency would cause friction with the Agency. I'm still commited to my - part-time - military career and am not too far away from reaching my 20-year mark (just one more re-enlistment in a couple of years).
I'm seeking this info based on the fact that you are a Vet and as one myself, I (and others in this forum) might get some really good advices.
Lastly, good luck with everything brother!

Hooah!
I would apply 12-16 months prior to your actual EOE. There are ways to get off Active Duty orders a little early to pursue an education/career opportunity so I would recommend reading your personnel manual if that's the route you're wanting to go. I am also going to finish my time as a reserve to get my full 20 years. It's a great achievement and something to look forward to. The CBP agency will work with members on active duty orders and are very flexible on waiting for you to come available. Figure out how much terminal leave you will have and plan on being on "military hold" with CBP until you start your leave. The day I started terminal leave, I got the call with an EOD date. Planning is everything. Give yourself 12 months of application time prior to terminal leave start date and you should be fine in sliding from one position straight into the other. Hope this helps. Send me a message if you need more advice. Thank you for your service.Announcement 13-1

Florida
Josh any recommendations about the Florida region? I just took the test on 17 Sept and got a score of 93. Would it be enough for Florida? I kept reading that Florida is high demand and very competitive. Also, I've been reading of other receiving an email today regarding TSL and being able to log in CASS...I haven't received anything. I'm afraid I didn't meet the cutoff score. Uhhh..."Ima get an ucler with this waiting game"
By the way...good luck with everything.CBPO ANNOUNCEMENT: 14-2
