Guess each state is different. My examiner came from AZ and had about 3 applicants in that week so my appointment was only for me.

I'm in the same situation as you are. Except my background info was sent to the "security office" almost 6 months ago, and still haven't had a poly scheduled yet. I've tried contact MHC about it and they just said "this is a long process, please wait, etc...." So if anybody has any other contact information to reach IA, that would be greatly appreciated.

        • I just completed my VBT / SI in Miami. Out of 3 applicants only 2 of us were asked to stay after the VBT, coincidently we were both wearing suits, while the applicant that wasn't in a suit was sent home after the VBT. I walked downstairs to grab coffee and saw him being escorted out of the building by an officer. I waited for about a half hour and was called in for a videotaped SI. After the SI I was sent home with a PFT2 paper in my hand.

On my way out the guard in the lobby said "You got the paper, that means you passed".

          LOL.

          • I had my VBT/SI back in June and never received a PFT2 letter yet several weeks later received my status letter stating I passed/eligible. For those of you who did both the VBT and SI, don't stress about a PFT letter. Maybe your office was out of paper that day (sarcasm) or found it pointless handing these letters out since you'll receive an email regardless notifying of your PFT date/time/location If AND WHEN you get "the call" just prior to the academy. With regards to how long the process is taking and "should I call other numbers", just let the process play out. I was hired by another Federal LE agency back in 2011 but I also applied for a CBPO spot back in 2010. That's 4 years ago. Things just started moving for me earlier this year after receiving that famous email encouraging me to change my geo from Florida to another location. I can tell you first hand that sometimes I went anywhere from 8 to 12 months without hearing anything. I changed to central/east coast and was carried over to the 13-1 applicants and the process has been moving relatively quickly for government standards. It did bother me that the most recent announcement once again listed Florida and Caribbean as possible locations after I was encouraged to change but that's just how the government works. The sooner you except this and understand that 9 months to 3 years is kinda the norm, the easier life will be for you and your loved ones till the day you get "the call". I encourage applicants to reach out to the appropriate personnel only if there is a clear and obvious error or a legitimate question such as the error with the gentleman that failed his VBT/SI yet had already been scheduled for a poly. Otherwise it's just a burden on the entire process and it's just not us few dozen in this forum asking the same question of "why haven't I heard anything", it's also the other several thousand applicants that aren't in this forum emailing/calling for the same reason. I couldn't imagine being someone involved with hiring for CBP OFO/BP and having to screen all these inquiries. I give them respect for having dealing with us. Good luck to all and I'm sure the process will pan out for all regardless the results.

            • So I have my Vbt/Si this Friday coming up here in Miami, I received an email saying I passed my medical and fitness. But I have yet to have my BI started. Everyone I know seems to have had the BI started already. Any ideas??

Were you two trying to withold any information during the poly? I'm not accusing the two of you anything, but it boggles my mind that anyone would try and cheat the poly when this is your career.

Maybe you two were very nervous and breathing irreguarly?
Body language, breathing, and the way one answers the questions is very important.

I have not taken the poly yet but I have buddies that have taken various ones. If you failed it, write down how you felt and what your did during it. Not to sound cliché, but take it as a learning experience and practice.

My wife gives me a mock poly every other week to practice with...(okay it's not a mock poly just venting but I take it as a opportunity to practice my body language and breathing when I'm nervous.)

So they asked you to choose which day you can go during that period? I was only given one day to go or I would have to wait extra several months if they get back to me.

Hello Jade78. They give me the opportunity to choose 3 dates. Today I receive an email scheduling my Polygraph for October 9 at 1:00pm. Hope in God to pass.

Good luck!! I'm sure all will go well. Is your poly scheduled in Aguadilla or are you having to travel into San Juan?

Not allowed to discuss the polygraph process but just answer everything truthfully no matter how small or irrelevant you may think. Remain calm and just be very very honest with the investigator and everything will be fine.
